It was still being built and I would need a Bible to list all the things wrong. Am appalled that Expedia had as a hotel as they can never have checked them.Their was an open loo in the Reception the doors to this area fell of as they had no Hinges and their were no redeeming features John Whitwell

I had booked online for my family of 5 with 3 small children and upon arrival to the hotel after a very long journey of 10 hours, they informed me that they had given my room to another customer and didn't have a room for me. They offered a room on the street that had only one bed, the room... More

When we arrived there in a group, they make us to wait for quite a long time. After some times, they finally told us that they did not have room because their hotel was in renovation. They should just told us earlier by email or something before we arrived there.then, they find for us a nearby hotel which is more expensive that... More

Nice place with really helpful staff (friendly and always willing to advise). It´s very close to Topkapi, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosqe... There are also many restaurants, bars and shops in the neighborhood. I recommend!

This is a great hotel. Stayed there 2 days. Manager was really helpful. Showed and explained the main attraction areas and how to get there. Had a family room which was basic but clean and to the point. Bathroom was huge but not very appealing to go in for some reason. Breakfast had lots of variety. Staff was really friendly.... More

We stayed for 3 nights end June. Room was good. Excellent staff. The Manager Zafer and rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were welcomed at the reception by Diar. While we waited for our room, he offered us Turkish coffee and it was a pleasure to have it sitting outside the hotel entrance. Another day, I wanted... More

I really can't believe people rate this hotel so high!!! Before choosing a hotel in Istanbul I read reviews and to be honest - I was cheated by the good reviews about this hotel. The only pluses of this hotel are the central location and friendly staff. First of all the hotel looked shabby from the outside, but we didn't... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
