This was our first time in Istanbul and so we had no idea where to stay. After doing much research we ended up at the Soho House and trust me when I say it was sad to leave. The service, the food, and the spa with the hamman were the best ever. They even have a hair wash and dry... More

Soho House exudes that classy casual relaxed style. My room had generous proportions and was stylishly equipped. I particularly enjoyed the 'Marshal' speaker...quality kit! Large comfy bed with an abundance of pillows. Good shower with a large selection of there 'own brand' (Cowshed) toiletries. I would say, though, if you are a light sleeper don't take the rooms facing the... More

This was booked on Hostelworld being the cheapest hostel in Istanbul. Be warned there is no air conditioning and the rooms get disgustingly hot in the night. The showers were covered in mould and there really was no social scene to mention. The location was pretty perfect and was a 2 minute walk to Taksim square. We moved to a... More

This hostel had the BEST location, only 5 minutes walking from Taksim! We booked three beds in a four bed female dorm, but the staff of the hostel was so sweet as to offer us an upgrade to a private three bed room. Naturally, we accepted their offer. For the three days that we stayed there, all staff was immensely... More

We stayed here for 1 night in December in the 9-bed dormitory. We THANKFULLY only stayed here 1 night. We spent most of the time outside and got up early to catch a bus back to the airport. The directions to this hostel were fairly simple as it is located just off of the main pedestrian street from Taksim Square.... More

I was in hurry to choose a place to stay in Istanbul. So, my friend choose this hostel as one of the cheapest. The place isn't that hard to find. Beware with the stairs. Its kinda tricky. You might be fell if you are not careful enough. What I like : - The receptionist is super cool. He is so... More

Great location off Taksim square and Istiklal St, close to bus and rail service. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Rooms are tiny and cramped. No secure places to lock up your bag (not an issue for me - just dont leave anything important in your bag, its a hostel afterall!). Some people slept with their bag due to lack of... More

Filthy dirty, poor and unsocial atmosphere and lazy staff. You can find better in Istanbul, even at this price. On the positive side it is located in Taksim near the nightlife. But that will also detract from your night of sleep!

Let's be warned - I have stayed in noisy places in Delhi and Bangkok but this takes the cake and cherry with it. The mixed dorm is located on second floor and I can't shut off the window because out of respect for other people. The location is perfect (minutes from Taksim metro), staff are nice and knows everything, toilet... More

Soho is a nice and clean place in a very busy and vivid area - surrounded by many bars and cafes it can be a bit noisy at night but the windows are good enough. The staff is very helpful and makes you feel very welcome.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
