We had a wonderful 3 day stay here in July. Would highly recommend this beautiful hotel and absolutely loved the area it was in, with lots of cool vintage, antique and designer homeware and fashion shops. A real gem and , as always, Istanbul is magical!

The hotel felt like I was actually living in Istanbul however we booked the penthouse and when we arrived the airconditioning was not working and it was very hot that night and we were on the top floor of a 5 story walkup. They tryed to fix it but it was the weekend they could not and since the hotel... More

I really enjoyed my 4 night stay here, and I was so glad that I was staying over in Galata rather than in the more central but touristy Sultanahmet district. It meant I was a bit further from the major sights, but it gave me a reason to explore the area near the hotel which I might not have done... More

We have just come back from a great stay here. The hotel is very stylish with loads of character but all the facilities are modern and spotless. We felt really comfortable immediately and all of the staff were just very naturally friendly and helpful - we couldn't have asked for more. The location of the hotel is also good (once... More

Great location (although the street itself is not very convenient), good looking building, great decoration of the reception/floors. The room was very large and good looking. The in-room shower is not very convenient but clearly good looking and original. The top-floor view is amazing, and the breakfast was overall pretty good. TV, wi-fi and AC were all ok. Staff was... I've stayed 4 nights plus 3 night, totally 7 nights here. The additional nights of 3 was because of the unexpected flight cancellation at the last minute due to weather condition. When I arrived the hotel, first impression of the area Galatasaray is too residential with narrow streets. The hotel itself is amazing - historical building since from 1890s was... More

I booked this through Tablet and thus didn't have a chance to choose a room. The hotel looked gorgeous online, and indeed it was in reality. I was totally impressed with the breakfast--- for the service, the spread, and the incredible rooftop lounge. But the room I ended up with was in the basement, below street level, and kind of... This is a beautifully restored building in the heart of Cukurcuma area, with easy access to some of the trendier neighborhoods of Istanbul - Cihangir, Beyoglu, Karakoy, etc. A beautiful cafe/breakfast spot overlooking the Galata Tower and red roofs across the city makes it a perfect start to the day. Loads of modern Turkish restaurants, rooftop bars and local cafes... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
