interesting interior of the rooms, especially arabic-style decorated rooms (the letters are actually not arabic ones). visited this hotel in february of 2014, I think it was just opened at that time, so the prices were quite reasonable. breakfasts were good, staff speaks English

I've stayed at this hotel 9 nights and it was the best experience ever after traveling the world I must say this was the best and warm welcome by the hotel manager Ismail. Ismail made me feel very welcome and made my stay 100% enjoyable. Hotel is the best in the old town and very close to all those tourist... More

We stayed in this small cosy hotel for two nights. It was perfect! Starting with the room- it was really confortable. Then the kindness of the staff- thank you Ismael for all your help and hospitality. The breakfast was very good- fresh and tasty products.

Overall the hotel was good. Friendly staff but tiny rooms. Got a free upgrade because we were travelling with an infant. If your looking to explore the sultanahmet region on foot then this is the best location for it.

The location of the hotel is perfect when visiting the major landmarks such as the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia and in the evening is home to a vast array of cafes, restaurants and bars. It is a small boutique hotel, which does not have any parking facilities so it is best to arrive and leave it by taxi, which... More

The hotel was within walking distance to many of the main attractions. It was also a 20LR taxi ride to Taxim. The rooms were a perfect size and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was okay. I will stay here again when I go to Istanbul, I will hope for the best with the breakfast.

The Senatus Hotel is a jewel. We arrived late in the evening. The reception staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We were upgraded to a suite - which was very nice. Facilities were exactly what we needed. Our suite faced the road but there was no issue with road noise. Breakfast was good. Staff were... More

We stayed at the Senatus for four nights. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed just sitting in the lobby talking to them from time to time. And they helped us with guides and restaurants--this can be touchy but their advice was great. They could set anything up, but were not pushy at all, just a great group... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
