We traveled as a family trip to Turkey and I trusted TripAdvisor reviews to choose this hotel. I should say I am happy with my choice. The Hotel is located in a building tool market area where you will see little people from sunset afterwards. The rooms are CLEAN. the Peninsula restaurant is above 5* in having a panoramic view... This hotel is not 4* at all more like 3* I was absolutely disappointed in the size of the room also the size of the bed. Both where small, the showers where tight and not enough room for a person to have a comfortable shower. The location was okay but u are in the middle of a builders district. Furthermore... More

Its a 4 stars hotel but holds services of a 5 stars.. Since we came one of our rooms A/C didn't work well, we complained several times but only Ali (the receptionist) took a proper action.. However, the place feels cozy, homie and felt like family The restaurant is one of the best (food&views) We stayed about 16 days and... More

From the moment we walked in the front door the staff was amazing, especially the front office manager Ali. He and his staff went over the top to ensure my wife and I had a great anniversary experience. Clean room, great view, great food at the top floor restaurant.

The hotel has nice clean rooms. Wifi is excellent. Service if very friendly. Breakfast was super with nice views from the top floor. It is between Sultanahmet and Taksim with a little walking required to reach the tram stop (for Sultanahmet) or the Tunel (for Taksim and Istiklal street. For us this was a perfect compromise. For the price level... More

If you like just sitting on you bed and staring at the awesome views from your windows, then panoramic room 903 is the best that Istanbul has to offer. With windows on two sides, there is an interrupted 230 degree feast for your eyes from the bridges, Blue mosque, museums, the horn waterfront to the cable cars. The daily fireworks... More

My daughter and I stayed at Istanbul Golden City Hotel for three nights and I cannot say enough good things about our experience beginning with the friendly greeting when we arrived, helpfulness of staff, proximity to public transportation, and the exquisite rooftop restaurant. The view was breathtaking, the food delicious, and our waiter, Muhammet, was exceptional. I highly recommend Istanbul... More

Staying in Karakoy

Neighborhood Profile
Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
