We received the confirmation without refund of 4 single rooms. When we arrived we were forced into two tiny double rooms. There was no air conditioning control, no TV, no Wi-Fi, the bed linen were dirty, the wc discharger didn't work, the towels weren't changed in two days, there was no water for long hours and, besides, the diner we... We arrived at istanbul at 10:30pm on 20th of May 2015, most of the restaurants are closed. With no other choice, my husband bought two combos, one mixed kabab n one beef sth. Regardless the hard rice n not fresh salad, each combo costed 20 euro. I went crazy when i saw the meals in my hotel apartment. I blamed... More

Although we enjoyed our meals, we did choose wisely. There were several VERY expensive meals, that I can't see how they could justify the price. We noticed a number of people walk in, look at the menu and prices and walk out again. Granted the meals come with plenty of bread and Turkish coffee at the end. It was also... More

Don't choose this hotel. It's not a hotel. It's a service for move you to another hotel with worse locality and bad rooms... We think it's illegal hotel. Firstly, staff said us not to open window and curtains because we "will kill him". Secondly, there were not any light in room, only in the bathroom. Thirdly, there were not signboard... More

Everyone is gonna have different reviews on this hotel but mine isn't that bad we didn't really have much to do with the staff as we were out a lot but they seemed ok a bit shady on it but ok otherwise the rooms r basic, shower has hot water which is a plus hotel is clean as it can... More

Got fooled in to booking this place based on fake pictures posted on venere.com. The rooms were small, damp and had ugly pink walls. The staff and the owners were shady to say the least. The bathroom was crammped and there was a broken pipe there as well. The buffet breakfast only had cheese, bread and boiled eggs. I made... More

Fatima Sultan changed their name to Indo Hotel. The only change is the name. The hotel is the same. We had ordered 2 singles and 4 doubles. We called the day before to confirm and everything was said to be ready and waiting for us. When we arrived nothing was ready. They took us down to another hotell whic was... More

So, what else do you want.... at this price? First, the service was great. The front desk receptionist, Nadir couldn't have been nicer and more helpful along a number of dimensions. They were terrific with directions and also helped us book a private van to the airport at the last minute. The location is great. Very convenient to the "old... More

If you see pictures of it on venere.com, they are not real. I booked a certain type of a room, we were put in a tiny, filthy, dirty, uncomfortable room with a disgusting bathroom and broken shades on the door. We demanded the room we booked, we were told the next day we'd get it. (why advertise a room that... More

I stayed here twice. I love the people at this hotel. The owners are an amazing Indonesian woman who lived in the US for 30 years and her husband who is Turkish. The staff is hillarious if you hang around long enough to talk with them. Quite a fun bunch of people. Everyone has a story. I felt safe as... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
