The staff was great here and the room was really clean and accommodating. However, it is up a steep hill, so beware. Fine for the physically able but not so fine for the physically challenged. And the location meant taxi drivers WAY overcharged for the return trip from down the hill. Breakfast (included) was quite diverse and the Turkish coffee... More

We had a terrific weekend visit to Istanbul! We arrived on an early flight but our room was ready and we were kindly welcomed. The staff, especially Mehmet, were so helpful as this was our first visit to the city. The room was clean and had a great view of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. We will definitely stay... More

This was a return visit for us and I have to say it is great to see some wonderful things in life don't change. From the hospitality of the staff, cleanliness of the rooms, outstanding breakfast and afternoon snacks it is an exceptional experience. We will revisit again soon!

Room information size in Booking.com and Expedia ...etc are not correct and misleading as i have reserved superior triple room with 27 m2 but actually it was around 15 m2 and very very very small. water has been cut off from noon time up to 11 pm, and you can imagine how much that difficult for a family with 2... Having arrived at 1 am we were greeted with complimentary drinks and told our room had been upgraded. The views are like something out of a postcard and staff have been nothing but helpful since we arrived. All the main attractions are within easy walking distance which is also a huge plus

I have short hair that needs daily styling. In the info the hotel proudly annouced that there are blowdryers in every room, so I didn't bring mine. As it turns out, the dryer in our room doesn't work and after telling them twice I now have to spend a second day in the city with lousy looking hair 😢

We arrived at this hotel at 7:00 PM after having made a confirmed reservation several days prior. The hotel stated they were full and did not have our reservation. They said they would "upgrade" us to a better hotel which is 10 minutes away. Instead, they sent us to a hotel that was 30 minute away by taxi and not... More

I was there 3 nights. The hotel is nice. The attractions are really near by specially the blue mosque and hagia sofia. The breakfast is really nice. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I would recommend to have ironing facilities for the guests. However, its a nice hotel. Thank you guys. It was nice meeting you all. Mohamed

Nice hotel a few blocks from the Blue Mosque. An easy walk to Sultanahmet square. Our room had a nice view of the sea. Unfortunately our air conditioner did not work so we had endure a lot noise because we had to keep the windows open. The staff was helpful in many areas except for the repair of our AC.... More

Lausos Hotel really surprised us. What made the difference between a good stay and a great stay was the staff at reception: Mustafa & Hunak. They went out of their way to make anything possible and to assist us to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Mustafa's advise from transport to traveling tips were invaluable. His knowledge of the... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
