We had never visited Istanbul. The Amira's customer service was terrific. We were met at the door by the concierge, Jimmy. After settling in our room. Jimmy spent 20 minutes reviewing the city and its highlights. We spent the following day with a guide that had been recommended by the hotel. The guide was excellent, giving us a wonderful tour... In terms of a review the only thing i can say is don't hesitate booking this hotel. Trust your gut, there is a reason why almost 2500 of 2800 reviews it has have given it five stars. Amazing location, rooms, cleanliness, and STAFF. On another note, which is the main reason why im writing this review, I would like to... More

Staying here for 3 nights but I'm writing this review on the first day. I'll explain why. The moment you enter the hotel, you are greeted by the most genuinely friendly staff you'll ever come across. Tony Stark aka Iron Man gave us such a warm welcome (when you meet AJ, you'll know what I mean). We sat and had... More

We had the most wonderful hotel stay ever. The entire staff was the nicest and most hospitable group of folks that I have ever met. They always exceeded expectations. The minute we entered the hotel, we felt that we were welcomed into their "home." The orientation helped us to plan our stay and to see all that we came to... More

The Hotel Amira Istanbul is a perfect hotel to explore the real history. The location is perfect. You can walk to all the major sights just in couple of minutes. On our arrival Jimmy greated us with full orientation on a map and spend maybe more 20 min. offered us welcome drinks. He was so helpful, because he really wanted... More

I recently spent ten days at this hotel that was highly recommended in TripAdvisor. Well, it exceeded my expectations on all levels. It was centrally located near Sultanahmet Square, so many of the sights were within walking distance, such as the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. The service provided by the staff is first-rate. The front desk was always... More

This hotel is in a great position for walking and seeing all the sights of Istanbul. The rooms were well equipped, clean and the beds soooo comfortable. The breakfast room was a delight to sit in and the choice of food was wonderful. Hotel staff made our stay! All of them were cheerful and very helpful. I would certainly recommend... More

From the moment we you walk through the door veryoe smiling to you and guesing your name. And suprise they know it (weard). A good start. They offered us a welcome drink before we took our room and gave us an orientation on map, with circle all the places we should visit. The room is very comfortable and clean.

Recently spent 10 days at The Amira Hotel and were very sorry to leave. The room was large, clean and well equipped. The daily breakfasts and afternoon teas were outstanding. Fresh local produce beautifully presented. However, the real highlight of our stay was the consistently excellent service provided by the staff. This commenced on check-in when we were taken through... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
