Stayed for two nights in 2010 soon after the hotel opened. Five years on, the service is as excellent as we remembered it, and the rooms and facilities are even better. Staff went out of their way to sort transfers, tours and restaurants. There is now complimentary afternoon tea (sandwiches, savoury snacks, cakes and a selection of teas and soft... More

We love every thing about this place from very first welcome from the staff. Room was large and comfortable for 3 people and very nice furnished. Front desk people were ready to all your questions with excellent English. Breakfast, tea time, lunch at the roof. Perfect location. Every thing you can wish for your enjoyable stay. And again thanks so... More

This place was great. When we checked in, we were given complimentary wine/drinks, and Fatih spent half an hour going over the city with us and helping us map out a plan to see some sites and explore town. Our room was big and bright. The roof deck has amazing views of the city and water, with full bar service.... More

The location is perfect, a short walk to the major sights and tram station. The hotel is newly renovated, bringing two buildings together into one in a truly original way. The room was roomy, with comfortable beds and a well appointed bathroom. The welcoming staff is kind and very helpful. It was a first visit to the city for me... More

I stayed at Hotel Amira during my first visit in Istanbul. On my first visit I stayed at the Mariott in Sisli. I have to say staying at Hotel Amira proved to be the more enjoyable experience. They both have excellent customer service but Hotel Amira is ideally located in Sultanahmet and the staff really made me feel like family.... More

We stayed 6 nights in deluxe double room which was large, well furnished and very comfortable. Lots of special welcoming touches from the email reply when we booked to the chocolates and strawberries when we arrived. The personalised introduction to the hotel and the city, conducted on the delightful rooftop terrace, set the tone for our wonderful stay. The staff... More

We booked this hotel on the strength of the reviews for this hotel. We were not disappointed, service is exceptional as described in all the other reviews & is the strength of the hotel along with the location. We stayed for 5 nights in a top floor deluxe room, which was a nice size & had a nice balcony &... More

We had a group of 8 people in Istanbul staying at the Amira. It was lovely! The rooms were beautiful and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We also loved the location, right in the old city. Restaurants were very convenient and the shopping was fun. A wonderful place to stay.

As a frequent traveler, I can honestly say that Amira is now one of my favorite hotels in the world. I would rate my experience with the staff on par with service provided by luxury hotels such as the Four Seasons or the Ritz Carlton. My companion commented several times that the hotel has done a fantastic job at anticipating... More

I highly recommend this hotel. I am a woman from the United States traveling by myself and staying for a week. Pros: the hotel provides you with a portable wifi hotspot. Your device can stay connected to Internet wherever you wander in the city Pros: just a few minuets walk to the major attractions Pros: a huge fantastic breakfast buffet... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
