Booked to visit Istanbul during the Easter weekend with the family. When we looked on this hotels website and reviews it seemed ok and was in a great location, close to all the sites although it is up a steep slope. After we,d booked we emailed the hotel to ensure a few things were in place because we had toddler... More

We stayed here three nights. It is in a great location near everything and the staff were outstanding- probably the most amazing I've had at a hotel- all genuinely lovely people. The room and bathroom was clean and had good aircon. However it was incredibly small (two could only fit in if one was on the bed) and some areas... More

I have been there 2 times and would be back all the time because there are working peoples, humans with all their soul and love. They make a feeling to feel like at home and that's is what they guests want really. .. I wish Mr. Yaşar and his crew my best wishes and hope to see us again soon...... More

Got this hotel for a bargain around £30 for one night. Situated 5 min walk from all the great tourist attractions. It was very clean, bathroom was nice with with good shower, A/C worked well, WIFI was great! Rooms are a bit small, but what do you expect for the price. The terrace has amazing views! Would strongly recommend.

what a pleasant receptionm i received upon arrival. the service and politeness of all staff was unremarkable. dinner with the manager was exquisite. would recommend everyday of the week. located very very close to blue mosque and not far from the grand bazaar. Very clean and was a pleasant stay. family room was perfect.

We stayed here for 4 nights in June and chose the hotel for it's location and we weren't disappointed. It's location in the old town meant it was only a 10-15 minute walk to all the main tourist attractions which was fantastic. The staff were lovely and so helpful and friendly. The downside was the rooms. Ours was quite small,... More

Hotel Dara was a cozy, budget friendly hotel perfectly located in the Sultanahmet district. We stayed here for 3 nights and did everything by foot. To get to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia was easily 10 minutes away or even less and add another 5 minutes to the Main Street. As long as you find landmarks as you walk,... More

We stayed here for 5 nights and neither of us can really think of a bad word to say about Dara Hotel - as soon as we arrived at the hotel at 11pm after our evening flight the reception staff gave us maps and directed us to the main sights and transport links I.e. Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
