I'm sure there are many comparable places in Sultanahmet, but this one stands out because of the friendly staff. They worked with an excellent tour company, Global Travel Service, to arrange a trip to Cappadocia, and were always eager to please us.

Hotel Sphendon was great. Very quaint, delightful room, excellent breakfast, helpful staff, quiet, perfect location. Really nice to come back to at the end of the day. Good value. The only negatives were lumpy pillows and very hard bed. I would definitely stay again.

Roof terrace underwhelming as was the garden but the room was clean and the staff were helpful. Also had a pretty solid breakfast included with eggs, cheeses, different breads, fruits, olives, juice, coffee and tea. The building next door is being renovated but there was construction noise. It is very convenient to the old town sites. 3 minutes from the... More

Apart from friendly staff and the good location in the old town there is not too much to praise this hotel. Although not cheap the hotel feels extremely cheaply built. Rooms, furniture, bathroom furniture, TV (maybe the smallest LCD TV I have ever seen) are cheap, low quality. When you book this hotel you have to be prepared by the... More

We booked through air b n b with the Sphendon and had no issues. The staff were super friendly from the get go (but not intrusively so, as some turkish services can be), they were great with their restaurant recommendations also. The room was a little bit small but for the price we paid we were satisfied. The bathroom and... More

Unfortunately our experience at Sphendon hotel was far from good to say the least. [Story] We booked 4 nights on Airbnb. First bad impression: less than 2 minutes after the payment confirmation I received an email from Sphendon hotel advising me that they made a mistake and that the room for the 3rd night wasn't available anymore. After a few... More

We found this place quite handy after reading reviews from other TA members and decided to give a try. The hotel was close to all the main attractions in Old Town and its staff were quite friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hearty enough to explore Istanbul for a day. Good signal for WiFi and enough TV channels to catch some... More

We visited this hotel in june. Both the people and the place are fantastic. Every single staff in the hotel is very kind and they just want you to feel as at home. Any advice you need, they will be ready to help always with a smile on their faces. The rooms are very comfortable, with everything you need to... More

The hotel by itself is mid range with little rooms, but the roof terrace is great and the staff is really welcoming, helpful, charming. As we were leaving at 3.30am in early morning, they even made us a breakfast included in the price of the room. It is well located as well. Will definitely recommand it for the warmness of... More

The good part: - Excellent breakfast - Very friendly staff - Decent WiFi signal - Fairly clean - Nice terrace and garden in the back of the hotel The average part: - room quality - slightly kitschi furnishings - but this seems to be the trend of the area - small bathroom - but this is standard for most hotels...
