The second time I have stayed at the New Galata Hotel. At the end of the tram, very near the top end of the tunel, and within a short walk to the Shake Shack. Reasonable rated. Large room, good wifi, and elevator. Only five rooms on five floors. Quiet unique.

A very enjoyable stay here with amazing hospitality. I stayed two nights. The location of the hotel was very convenient for me to cover all my meetings in one day. The hotel's location is perfect. The staffs are friendly and they take care of everything. The room was clean and well equipped. The big problem that I had, was the internet speed which was terrible. I was in fifth floor and in order to use the internet, I had to go to the ground floor... Except the internet speed, everything... More

The hotel was great, the location is perfect, near to the metro, galata tower and for us one of the best spots in istanbul. You can have delicious breakfast cheapest than any restaurant and the attention is great!

This is not meant for people that are looking for a vacation, but more for those that miss their college days, and want to go back, and spend few more days in those college rooms. This is an older building, with 5 floors, 1 room per floor, the elevator and stairs are attached to the back of the building in... More

Me and a friend of mine stayed for 4 nights in the new galata and had a really good time. Our apartment was really sweet decorated and clean. When we arrived we got welcomed and got informed with a city plan and they offered us all kind of help when we had any questions. The New Galata is perfectly located... More

There is absolutely NO better place to stay than here. Tucked away nicely on a charming street near Galata Tower, this place is an all-round winner. Location is tops, near "Independence" Ave, Taksim and Cihangir. All the restaurants, cafés, clubs are walking distance (foodie heaven). All the historical sights are 10 minutes by taxi (don't make the mistake of staying... More

Price paid for the hotel was exorbitant - you can stay in a nicer hotel in sultanahmet for 2/3 the price. Room does not include breakfast despite the high price. No facilities so this operates more like an expensive motel. Room is not cleaned thoroughly, no complimentary water. Agree with recent reviews that the neighbourhood is nice but you can... More

Like others have written recently, we booked this hotel based on its great Lonely Planet review and strong Trip Advisor scores - but perhaps something has changed with it recently, because it definitely didn't live up to our expectations. First of all, calling it a "B&B" is generous, and calling it a "hotel" is straight-up misleading. We arrived in the... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
