I stayed in Samir Hotel with my brother for a short weekend. There are a metro station and tram stop just yards away from the premise. You can walk 10 minutes to beautiful grand bazaar and 20 minutes to blue mosque. there are plenty of cafés and restaurants around hotel (mostly cheap and not posh). buffet breakfast severed daily 7... The staff was friendly and accommodating. It is 2 blocks away from the train station so we were able to save money when we went to the airport. The walls are very thin, I could hear the guy talking in the lobby while in my room.

We had booked two rooms here for a short New Year break, throughTravel Republic. On arrival we were told that the hotel was full for that night and we should leave our luggage there and sleep at another hotel a few streets away! Staff were indifferent, although they did send someone with us to find the other hotel where we... More

It was average hotel with very tiny walls so you could speak with your neighbors trough the walls. Window view was bad,and everything else is ok.Hotel is close to the old center of the city and clean.Food was ok.

Located in a busy place, surrounded by shops, safe to walk around at night. Good breakfast, poor net connection. Clean and tidy rooms with hot water.

I would normally give a hotel like this an "average" rating, because it does have its good points, but I felt that at around 80 euros a night it was severely overpriced. It's a 15 minute walk to the main sites, but I wouldn't choose this area again - it's teeming with low-quality clothes retailers who continually pester every foreign-looking... More

This hotel has an excellent location and is very good value considering the rate. Very clean rooms. The english of several of the staff is not that good but they are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is basic but full of stuff that is good for you. I.e. no bacon or greasy sausages but lots of fresh vegetables and... More

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
