The location is nice (and even better when you check where you can take the metrobus before). The old city (Sultanahmet) is still accessible by feet and even if it is a bit long, the streets on the way are nice (close to the Grand Bazaar). I found the staff helpful. Of course not all speak a perfect english but... More

The Hotel had excellent front desk people. They walked us to the Turkish bath salon and carried our baggage to main road.Had an elevator.Centrally located and air-conditioned. Good breakfast in the basement.Front desk guided us for day tour and placed local calls free of charge. We had triple sharing room which was neat and clean.A bit small though.Good cosy hotel.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. It is 2 blocks away from the train station so we were able to save money when we went to the airport. The walls are very thin, I could hear the guy talking in the lobby while in my room.

We had booked two rooms here for a short New Year break, throughTravel Republic. On arrival we were told that the hotel was full for that night and we should leave our luggage there and sleep at another hotel a few streets away! Staff were indifferent, although they did send someone with us to find the other hotel where we... More

It was average hotel with very tiny walls so you could speak with your neighbors trough the walls. Window view was bad,and everything else is ok.Hotel is close to the old center of the city and clean.Food was ok.

Located in a busy place, surrounded by shops, safe to walk around at night. Good breakfast, poor net connection. Clean and tidy rooms with hot water.

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
