A pleasant, comfortable hotel close to all the main attractions of the old city. Sits atop ruins of an ancient palace. Very helpful staff, five minute walk to Blue Mosque and a little balcony but no view to speak of.

What we like the hotel most is its great location! It situates in the old town, with five-minute walk you can reach all of the four major sightseeing places: Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Topkapi Palace. And the stuff there are nice too! Besides, there are lots of nice shops around, good place for souvenirs!

Location, hospitality were top notch to visit ancient sites. Breakfast could be varied, but are you there for the breakfast? Restaurants within 3 blocks- careful choosing. The front desk was always helpful, suggestions, transportation within city or to airport.- always helpful.y

This hotel is very well located. You can walk by foot to the main Istanbul attractions and the ambiance is great! The streets near the hotel are so cute to go for a walk at night, they have a beautiful illumination and and you can find some street musicians playing. It is lovely! The rooms were large and very well... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms were big and cozy. The service was good and the breakfast OK. The location was nice and we could walk to the Blue Mosque and the grand bazaar. The rooms could have been a bit more clean, but it was not so bad. If we ever go back to Istanbul we will... More

The hotel is very good on an excellent location. Really close to the blue mosque so it is easy to access all the truistic areas and go for a nice dinner in the surrounds in a lovely walk at night - many restaurants near by. The staff is very helpful and kind, smile all the time and offer you tea... More

We stayed in Acra hotel last June. The staff were friendly, extremely helpful and kind. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast buffet has great variety of hot and cold options and the afternoon tea and snacks are welcoming after a long day of sightseeing. The location is in the heart of SultanAhmet, quiet enough for a peaceful sleep and... More

My wife, second son and I spent a few nights in the Acra. It was well located in the old section of Istanbul and within reasonable walking distance of the Blue Mosque - 5 minutes. I like walking and it was only 5 minutes to the Kennedy Caddesi and then about 30 minutes to the Galata Bridge. The tram system... More

Staff was very kind and helpful. Location is good but many adjacent hotels have better location and view. No rooftop restaurant to enjoy the view of SultanAhmet surroundings. Hotel is small, old, a bit dark but the room is clean and spacious.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
