A great service from the hotel staff. They gave us complete information. A great view during breakfast plus you don't need to take any transportation to reach Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and Topkapi palace.

We really grateful choosing this hotel. The location is so close to Sultan Ahmet district, only 5 minutes walking. Room is clean and spacious. The staff was helpful and informative. The restaurant terrace views are both blue mosque and bosphorus strait! Love it!

Booking this hotel was the best decision we made during our trip to Istanbul. Travelled back in September 2014 when the weather was nice and pleasant, fall was just around the corner. Acra hotel is right in the heart of Sultanahmet and allowed us 4 days of relaxing sight-seeing to all major tourist spots by foot such as Sultanahmet square,... More

This modestly elegant hotel is ideally located in the Sultanahmet district of Istanbul, from which it is easy to visit the Blue Mosque, Ayia Sofia, etc. The building was converted to the present hotel in 2009, but was originally the Byzantine Great Palace of Constantinople (the ‘Sacred Palace’), and the breakfast room, below street level, displays some architectural remains of... The staff was super helpful and friendly, really a highlight. Location was great for Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya -- you could see the minarets from our window. Breakfast buffet was nice with lots of options for fruit, bread, cheese, and somewhat runny scrambled eggs. The breakfast room has glass cases showing excavated foundations of earlier structures that the posted... More

We stayed here in early September. A great hotel located in an awesome area close to resturants, markets, and tourist sites within walking distance. Rooms were clean and tidy and room service was excellent. Front desk staff were helpful with good understanding of english. Breakfast was good with a variety of options. Would recommend this hotel.

The Acra met our needs at all levels- situated in a quiet cobblestoned street 5 minute walk from the Blue Mosque on one side and views of the Bosphorus on the other(try rm406) The staff standout for their cheery efficiency and helpfulness! Bouquets to housekeeping who found and returned a special necklace to me! Rooms and bathrooms clean and welcoming,... More

When my mother and I arrived, we were served tea and homemade cake in a comfortable sitting group by the reception. The staff was so welcoming, and helped us arrange activities during our 5 days. Excellent room, clean, good bed and pillow/cover. Quite a broad breakfast buffet for so few people. And most of all, in the heart of Sulthanameht... More

The location of this small hotel makes access to the old city easy. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. Only downfall is the limited breakfast options. Mostly traditional foods with hardly any western options.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
