The location of this small hotel makes access to the old city easy. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. Only downfall is the limited breakfast options. Mostly traditional foods with hardly any western options.

Cozy and homely feel to a nice hotel in a very good location - walkable distance to all sightseeing places - Arasta Bazaar, Sultanahmet Square, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Archaelogical Museum, Mosaic Museum, Tram station. Nice breakfast spread. Lovely room with nice little balcony/window, washroom, room amenities. One of the single beds was not good at all in... More

I was there 18-20 June 2015.Very well located in Sultanahmet . Quiet neighbourhood with lovely shops and restaurants, easy to find way around and not too steep. Hotel staff were especially helpful, even escorting and booking appointment for me to nearby hairdresser (very cheap but good). Lovely complimentary afternoon tea daily in lobby. Twin room on third floor quite spacious... More

We booked 2 nights at this hotel, which is in the heart of the old city of Istanbul. It is a charming hotel in the Sultanamet area a 2 min walk to the blue mosque and the Aya Sophia and surrounded by lovely cafes and restaurants. The hotel is built on the remains of an ancient Byzantime Palace and you... More

A pleasant, comfortable hotel close to all the main attractions of the old city. Sits atop ruins of an ancient palace. Very helpful staff, five minute walk to Blue Mosque and a little balcony but no view to speak of.

What we like the hotel most is its great location! It situates in the old town, with five-minute walk you can reach all of the four major sightseeing places: Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Topkapi Palace. And the stuff there are nice too! Besides, there are lots of nice shops around, good place for souvenirs!

Location, hospitality were top notch to visit ancient sites. Breakfast could be varied, but are you there for the breakfast? Restaurants within 3 blocks- careful choosing. The front desk was always helpful, suggestions, transportation within city or to airport.- always helpful.y

This hotel is very well located. You can walk by foot to the main Istanbul attractions and the ambiance is great! The streets near the hotel are so cute to go for a walk at night, they have a beautiful illumination and and you can find some street musicians playing. It is lovely! The rooms were large and very well... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms were big and cozy. The service was good and the breakfast OK. The location was nice and we could walk to the Blue Mosque and the grand bazaar. The rooms could have been a bit more clean, but it was not so bad. If we ever go back to Istanbul we will... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
