The Agora is great if you're not a natural 'backpacker' type and want a little more comfort and peace. In a great location in Sultanahmet, the hostel has double rooms and dorms. I stayed in an all-women dorm room, these are surprisingly difficult to find in Istanbul. Mine was light, bright and very clean. The mattresses were super-comfortable, the room... More

Great location for a hostel, relatively easy to find. Buffet breakfast every morning was a plus. Good hostel to relax, not a party hostel. Overall had a great time here. Popular for lots of Korean backpackers.

Visited Agora guesthouse in the beginning of August(when it was so hot in Istanbul!) without my luggage(My luggage was missing during the flight, FYI do not use aeroflot..it sucks). I freaked out but staffs at agora guesthouse tried their best for my missing baggage. I really appreciated it(thank you Vahap & Ali & another staff who is from cappadocia...sorry I... More

Staying at Agora was a great part of my trip to Istanbul. The owners there are really great and helpful and by the end of my trip, we had become friends. They had great advice on everything, right from daily trip recommendations, places to eat, transportation, bazaar tips. Definitely go to the Motif Collection for your carpet needs! The owner... More

When checking in we were immediately impressed with Orhan who was friendly, helpful, and really funny. During our 5 nights at Agora, he was always willing to help out and point us in the right direction and make reservations for us. The hotel is in a great location and we were pleased with our stay overall. While the breakfast left... More

I had a great time in Istanbul and staying at Agora. The staff were friendly and helpful (and in some cases hilarious!). The hostel is really clean, very well decorated and the breakfast was really perfect (not to mention sitting out and looking out over the sea while you eat it!). The location is perfect for most of the major... More

I stayed at the Agora Guesthouse and Hostel for 4 nights in September 2014. The hostel is located a short walk to the Blue Mosque. I was very impressed with the hostel's location. I stayed in the dorm room. The room was very clean, spacious and had air con. The hostel appears to be very popular with tourists / backpackers... More

Hi there :) We would like to thank you for all the kind words and we are very happy to hear that your experience during your stay was positive. This was an emergency meeting about two of our staff having personal conflicts with one another. We wanted to have a group meeting including the unhappy staff member to understand their conflicts... My friend and I started our Med. trip in Istanbul. We only stayed at Agora for one night but it was the perfect place and location to start. Agora is less than a 10 minute walk to Aya Sofia/Blue Mosque, and a short tram ride to other sites (Grand Bazaar). We are late 20's backpackers and met some fun people... More
