My family of 4 stayed here for 3 days and it was a very pleasant experience. We loved everything about it. The location, the staff, the food, the view! We loved it all! Mr. Happy from the staff was particularly helpful! 5 starts to this lovely hotel!

Great location in sultan ahmet, great view from the rooftop where you have breakfast. The breakfast is just awesome, the best I had throught out the whole Turkey trip. Very tasty and had variation everyday for the 3 days I stayed. The bathroom was rather small, but I figure it's a common thing in Turkey so I did not mind.... More

The hotel is in a fantastic and convenient location, everything was in walking distance. The hotel is spotlessly clean.Although the room and bathroom were a little small, they are totally adequate for a short sightseeing break. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.I would totally recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a short stay in the amazing city of Istanbul,

The Rast Hotel is in a Great location. Although the twin rooms are small, they are clean and just what's needed when in this beautiful city. As its Ramadan, the evening menu in the restaurant is sent around that, but taste delicious. We plan to come back in October and without any hesitation, will stay here again.

We stayed end of June for 5 days in the Rast Hotel with family. Total 8 people. This was my and my partners' third time but our family's first time in Istanbul. The Rast Hotel is still central and most value for money to enjoy a sweeping view of Old Istabul and to visit the city. From the terras you... More

Helpful staff at check in desk. Reasonable rooms at reasonable prices. Bathrooms are small, with shower above bath. Fantastic views from breakfast area on 6th floor. Rooms on 5th floor have a view. Located very close to tram line and easy walking to plenty of major attractions. WiFi worked well. Elevator is very slow, but gets you up and down.... More

Stayed for two nights beginning June 18, 2015. Nice hotel with a helpful and professional staff. Our room was comfortable and our balcony had a great view of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the Bosphorus. Even if your room does not have this view, the hotel has a rooftop terrace where you can enjoy a drink and the view.... More

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Rast. The hotel is an older, boutique hotel located in the heart of Sultanahmet - walking distance to Hagia Sofia, The Blue Mosque, Topaki Palace & the Grand Bazaar. The Sultanahmet tram stop is just a few metres away. The staff were all very friendly and obliging. The rooms are not decorated... More

Rast is a wonderful little boutique hotel in the Sultanahmet district of Istanbul. It isn't luxurious, but it provided an introduction to the color and culture of Istanbul, and that's how we like to experience new places. The room was large and always clean; big breakfasts were in a lovely rooftop dining room, open to views of the Blue Mosque,... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
