A must-try for breakfast on roof terrace with a view to the sea and old centre! Ours was a short-notice and we were happy to get an upper level room, with windows to all sides - including sea and street view. Late night activity is not a problem, because the location is relatively quiet corner compared to the rest of... More

My wife and I stayed at Darussaade for four nights in August 2015. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, especially Ismail. The room was just right-- very clean and the bed was comfortable. The views from the rooftop were extraordinary: a straight away view of the Blue Mosque on one side and a picturesque view of... Ahmet and Ismail will go out of their way to help you and will advise you on the easiest and best route to get to any of the attractions. The breakfast was complimentary and had a wide variety of... We had a fantastic stay at the hotel made more pleasurable by the hotel staff, particularly Ismail at front desk, who went out of his way to help us plan a very quick 2 day visit to Istanbul. We had a lovely room with a view of the Bosphorus to our right & the blue mosque to the left. Will... More

So I have to write that I use this hotel for last 5 years. For business trips, for my solo traveling, for the good rest with my sister. Always the best. I feel myself like at home, always. Service is good, breakfast I love.

Perfect location near most major tourist attractions. Staff were simply incredible. Above and beyond is a common phrase here. The room was nice, bathroom nicer. Well sized and comfortable. I suggest avoiding the ground floor rooms, however, due to privacy and noise from outside. One complaint--each time we flushed our toilet, it made the room smell like a sewer. The... More

Hotel Darussaade is a quaint, small, personable hotel in Sultanahmet in the shadow of the Blue Mosque. It has an incredible location: a quiet street in walking distance to all of the old town historical sites, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Underground Cisterns, the Grand and Spice Bazaars. It is also near the tram station. Our room... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
