Because we booked more than 3 nights, the hotel provided a free transfer from the Ataturk airport which was great. A nice welcome email from Mr. Engin Evsen, the hotel's owner. We also got a welcome apple tea and a turkish delight at check-in. Te room was very nice and clean. Not a great view (contruction zone, but no work... More

The location is perfect: very close to the Topkapi Palace, The Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. The rooms are very nice and the breakfast is really good. The best thing about the hotel though is the staff who are extremely friendly and helpful.

This hotel is well situated, a mere 5 minute walk to the Hagia Sophia and a road away from the train station. The staff were really great - very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean and service was very good. A very reasonable price, given the location. My only issue was that the bathroom did not have... More

My fiance stayed for five nights last week and everything was great. The staff were great, the rooms were good, location was great. Their recommendations and maps were also good...the restaurant they recommended was fab...we visited twice (Adora). Staff spoke good english. They organised our airport transfer without a worry. Great experience overall.

A very big thank you to all the staff at the maywood for making us feel so welcome during our visit to Istanbul. Welcome drinks and Turkish delight on arrival, and a gift of a box of Turkish delight and Turkish tea when we left! The staff couldn't do enough for us and were always there to answer any questions.... More

We had a very nice experience while staying at the Maywood. It is a petite hotel (with petite rooms) nevertheless with all the conforts that we needed. The staff was very kind and helpful, always willng to do their best at serving us. The location is excellent, near major touristic spots by walking or tramway, including the amazing Marmaray Line... Very nice and clean hotel with perfect location close to everything in the city center. Staff is always happy to help and will give you many useful hints and tips. You can enjoy Turkish or Apple tea in a lobby and in the end of your stay you will get a small present. If I go to Istanbul next time,... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2015

It is located in Old city and has easy access to interest spots. It is worth to stay with the price you paying, but still is a 3 star hotel. Breakfast is somewhat satisfactory, but again it is a 3 star hotel.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
