I stayed at this hotel on April 3-12. I originally booked a five-night stay, but opted to book an additional three because I felt so at home. Staying in Sultanahmet was a far better option than finishing out my Istanbul stay in the extremely gritty New City. I would encourage other foreign women traveling alone to stay at the Grand... I would say it's a good option to stay in Istambul. The relation quality/price is balanced. The hotel staff from the ladies who set the breakfast at the terrace to the recepcionists are very polite, professionals and well prepared to help international guests. The only thing I don't recomend are the "underground or basement rooms". They are big and comfortable... More

I stopped over in Istanbul for 3 nights. This hotel was perfect and you were treated like an individual rather than just another customer. Staff were very helpful in providing ideas (and arranging last minute transportation when I overslept and nearly missed my flight home...). Location is superb. Good value and highly recommended.

I spent seven nights at the Grand Peninsula during my last trip to Istanbul. I got a great off-season rate (€35 /night) for a room on the third floor with a double bed with a very hard mattress (more the norm than the exception in this part of the world). The room also had a fridge, safe, tv, black-out curtains,... More

This place is great. Super close to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the Grand Bazaar, and other sites. Close to public transportation. Short walk to the bridge that connects Sultan Ahmet to Taksim and to the ferry that will take you to the Asian side. The staff here is awesome! They were so helpful in recommending places to go... I recently participated in a study abroad trip where I traveled to Berlin and Istanbul. I expected the accommodations in Berlin to be cleaner and for some of the amenities to be superior but how wrong I was! This hotel was comparable to any decent 3 star or moderate 4 star I have stayed in while in the US. The... More

I stayed here in the off season (December) with a large group of people and was incredibly impressed throughout my week long stay. The staff was friendly and professional, and the terrace gave a beautiful view of the Sultanahmet neighborhood.

Fantastic expierience. The staff was incredibly helpful and the location was simply fantastic. You could walk easily to Hagia Sophia or to the nearest public transit stop. Breakfast offerings were also very good, with fresh-baked bread every morning. Rooms are nice as well.

I stayed here in December 2013 with a large group. The staff was incredibly helpful. They coordinated airport busses for us, called ahead to restaurants to get us discounts, organized laundry services for us (pick up and drop off at the hotel around our schedule). While we normally traveled with public transport, we wanted taxis one evening. The hotel staff... More

I visited Istanbul on the Nov 27th 2013 (Off Season) and stayed at the Grand Peninsula hotel. I have divided my review into multiple sections as described below. Hospitality: I first thing that struck me about this place, which in my opinion is the most important thing about a smaller hotel is how hospitable the staff (Sabahattin *Sabo" and Ramazan)... More
