Very nice historic hotel, staff is very friendly, especially Ümit. All in all, a very pleasant experience with the hotel. The breakfast is nice and well made. The decorations are very nice and pay attention to details. The room and bathroom are very nice and clean.

My experience in Erten Konak was simply amazing, not only because of its premium location, but also because of helpful and friendly staff. One person i would like to mention especially Umit; a very well dressed and disciplined staff member of the hotel.

We originally picked this hotel because the reviews stated that the breakfast was good, the location was on point and it was generally a great hotel. The positives: Location was great and walking distance to Sultan Ahmet and transport links. The shower was great. Nice staff and gave us detailed info on Istanbul. The negatives: Not much of a choice... More

Beautiful set-up and feels like you've come to medieval age! Very close to Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque. The service is very good and I would recommend this hotel only for couples since the rooms are very small.

Location is excellent. You are very close to the blue mosque and all the tourist attractions but in a quite neighborhood. Plenty of very good restaurant for dinner around the hotel. We loved the location. Less than 5 min walk from Tram station. And the walk is beautiful. The staff is extremely friendly. Breakfast is very good. I love cheese... More

Strongly recommended for the art & antique lovers! Behind the Blue Mosque, discover this lovely hotel on the small stone paved ally of Old Constantinople! Filled with ambiance, we enjoyed the breakfast in a glass covered green house like room in a courtyard. Gentle clientele. Felt very safe & warmly welcomed as women travelers.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. It is located just behind the Blue Mosque and is conveniently close to most attractions. The hotel is artistically decorated with antiques and our room was nice. Breakfast is not very sophisticated but enough to start a day of exploration. The staff was polite but no more.

We stayed one night in this cute little hotel and it was very pleasant. It was within very close walking distance of the main attractions in Istanbul. We felt safe in the neighborhood even though the very narrow streets made it a little difficult to find.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
