We stayed at this beautiful, lovely and clean hotel for 4 nights. Extremely artistically decorated, the hotel and staff were both a delight! Very accessible and jus a 5 min walk to all the major attractions like the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque! Loved our stay and would certainly recommend it! Thanks

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and found it delightful - well located and friendly. While the rooms are small they are well appointed and the staff go out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast is delicious with plenty of choice depending on cultural preference.

Quirky, not run of the mill a lovely little hotel, the staff were very helpful staff and the rooms and public areas very clean. Great location for site seeing the Blue Mosque, not far to the Grand Bazaar and The Artisan Market nearby was very good, selection of restaurants close by. I would definitely return.

Long story short, stayed here for 3 nights as a couple. Overpriced when you compare with the other boutique hotels nearby regarding the cleanliness of the rooms - there were watermelon seeds on the tiny coffee table next to our bed - and the shower did not work properly. Plus lots of noises out of the window even if it... More

The location is perfect!!! It is in a silent area, just around Blue Mosque, with a 24-hour market around the corner. The staff is very friendly, smiling all the time ;))) They gave us a small present in the end! We had a great large room (302), very Ottoman style and enjoyed it a lot. Breakfast is small but good. We... More

Room 301 had a great jacuzzi tub /shower. Small but great for the feet. The staff was kind and helpful arranging tours, taxis, and showed us around the hotel. In the basement there is a glassed over area where some excavation has been done. The floors and historic details are amazing. Breakfast was ample and modeled much of the traditional... More

The location was perfect - I loved having all of the main sites and lots of restaurant options within walking distance. Our room was quite small but I wouldn't expect any hotels in this area to offer much larger rooms. Staff were welcoming and helpful in making recommendations. Good value, service, and location.

One of the few good hotels in Istanbul, it's a bit of a trek to walk from sultanhmet station however it is just behind the blue mosque. Quite a few local amenities. The front office staff specially the one on night shift was very helpful. Didn't quite catch his name, however he gave a good advice on local shopping and... More

Absolutely beautiful hotel, in a very peaceful location only minutes from Blue Mosque etc. The room was very comfortable, the staff could not have been more helpful, food was great, and we couldn't have asked for a nicer hotel in Istanbul. Very 'local' feel to it, not just another bland 'International' hotel.

We started our 1 month travel in Turkey staying here. We tried many others and ended up coming back to this hotel as it was by far the best experience. None came close to Erten Konak with respect to the staff. They were very attentive, always ask what we need or if we are comfortable. We felt very welcome by... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
