I went to this hotel after I failed to go to another hotel I had a reservation in. It's 5 minutes to walk to Taksim square and 10 minutes from the airport bus station. The hotel is located right off the main walking street (Istiklal street) down a little cobblestone alley. The room was small, but modern and comfortable. The... More

My fiancee and I stayed here for 10 days on our first trip to Istanbul. We were advised to stay in Beyoglu, hence why we chose this hotel (price was a factor too). If you are young and want to be part of the action, I highly recommend staying in Beyoglu - across the river from the main tourist area... More

I stayed there one night with my husband and our baby and I am sure that we never go back there again. To be honest nothing was wrong with the people who were working there as they were nice and polite but the "hotel" was very poor and old. It is in a very busy and crowded little alley very... More

* Hotel location is very good. In the center of Taksim / Istiklal Street. * Good price. * Rooms are average. Clean but small. * Noisy at nights (noise comes from outside). I needed to close the window to sleep. * Breakfast was basic. * Free wi-fi. Speed was sometimes fine, sometimes slow. This hotel is a good choice if... More

The first time I stayed at residence was in 2007 and I have just kept going back there. December was 8th stay and October this year will be my 9th. The location is perfect since it is on istiklal caddessi and means you will always have something to do from morning to evening. But other than the location, and the... More

Great location, 5 mins walk to Taksim square and Istiklal street. Nice rooms with comfy beds and modern (small) bathrooms. A bit noisy (the isolation could be improved) so ask for a room on a high floor and not facing the street. Wifi worked perfectly. I had great prices. I already stayed there twice and will come back.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
