I stayed at Antique Hostel four years ago and wrote a review -- back when I wasn't even writing reviews, I liked it that much. I came back again, this time with my mother, and Onur took good care of us. He moved us into the only double room with a balcony, he always made sure we had everything we... More

Stayed for two nights in the dorm, which was very clean and has AC. The bed was pretty comfy. For storage they offer a locker, so it would be good to bring a padlock. Otherwise they will sell you one. Staff is very helpfull, friendly and always around. They serve breakfast up on the roof terrace. You can choose from... More

Antique is a nice, budget hotel in the middle of Sultanahmet, close to Blue mosque. We had a doublebed room (10) which was nicely furnitured, comfy bed and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was okay, served on the top floor with view to Bosphorus. Recommended.

A small hostel hotel which is right in the thick of the tourist melee which is Sultanahmet. We had a two berth bunk bed ensuite room on the ground floor and the only possible complaint was that the Ramazan fun outside was a bit noisy. Not to worry- we soon got into the swing of things and found the facilities... More

Me and 9 friends were on a long-due but short trip to Turkey and Greece, and Istanbul was our first stop. Having researched a bit on the web and some feedback from friends who’ve been to Istanbul recommended we stay in the Sultanahmet area, given its proximity to all the historical and cultural sites. After all the research, we finally... More

Good accommodation in a great location. Very close to the most important attractions (less than 5 mins walking distance from the aya sofia and the blue mosque). I stayed in the six bunk-bed rooms which were comfortable and provided with reading light, plugs, AC. There is a nice terrace on the rooftop and breakfast is served during the morning. The... More

Despite having shared and small rooms for 6 persons at least, the stay there was actually a good value for money! It was neat overall, providing a quite large choice of food in breakfast, and a shiny beautiful view facing the sea outside; being situated near the blue mosque and other notable turkish monuments is worth mentionning, I recommend this... Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
