I went to Istanbul for the second time. According to the many good reputations on Tripadvisor, I stayed at Osmanhan Hotel in Sultanahmet area. As everyone wrote, the hotel is excellent. The owner and staff are very cordial and had great hospitality. They always want to know if we are satisfied and ask that. They're paying attention to make their... More

We just returned from 4 days in Istanbul as guest of Osmanhan Hotel. My husband and I put a lot of research into where to stay before we traveled there. We stayed at the hotel because of its prime location and the reviews we read. It certainly did not disappoint. We wished we could have stayed longer! Location was awesome.... More

Very close to Hagia Sofia and in a nice old neighbourhood. It has great view from the terrace. It is a small but very friendly hotel. It is very clean! The staff was amazing. They were very polite and patient to serve us in any way, showing us everything we needed and arrange everything for us, such us transportation or... More

We stayed at this lovely hotel for three nights. When we arrived, we felt as if we were at our own home. The owner asked us if we were tried or not and brought us Turkish tea. It made us very relaxed. After quick check-in, we enjoyed talking with the owner and the receptionist meanwhile. We got much information about... More

We recently stayed at the Osmanhan Hotel. It is in an excellent location - near the major attractions of Istanbul. The hotel is small - only six rooms, which gives it a very personal feel. It has an excellent breakfast room with sea views and delicious home cooked food, and a roof-top balcony. The staff at the hotel are very... More

This hotel was perfect for our five night stay in Istanbul. The best was how helpful the staff was. There tips for restaurants, getting around, booking tours and transit at very fair prices were invaluable. It was also spotlessly clean. The breakfast was great and the roof deck had a great view.

Great location. Views of Sultan Ahmet Mosque to one side, to the Sea of Marmara the other. Very pleasant staff. Small but very comfortable rooms. Good exercise to climb the circular stairways to rooms and to rooftop breakfast or evening drinks. Walking distance to the main attractions of Sultanahmet area. Hamit Bey, who owns the hotel also owns the carpet... More

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The pictures are accurate! Old world charm. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was central, but a little touristy. But, it was was very easy to hop on the trolley to get to other parts of the city.

This brilliantly positioned tiny hotel is a gem. There are no elevators...but they happily move suitcases up and down, the breakfast on the terrace is the wonderful start to an Istanbul day. An exciting place to stay...position is incredible for major tourist destinations and restaurants...and...it is spotlessly clean. Recommend unreservably.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
