We decided to dine here but never stayed. The food was average not good but certainly not bad. The service was also passable but the staff could have been a bit more friendly. The dining area itself was clean but certainly old and would be served better if there was more light.

Centrally located, Hotel Assos is all about value. We upgraded to a penthouse room with terrace overlooking the Marmara Sea for no additional charge & a $5 tip (Euros always preferred these days). The included breakfast was substantial, & delicious also with a great view. All major sites; Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Boshororous Strait were an... More

The hotel is located down a steep street from Beyazit tramway area. No special views from the rooms, although the restaurant at 6th floor has view of the Marmara Sea. Our room was clean and of good size, with old style furnitue etc. WiFi connection was good and fairly fast. Our bathroom looked fairly new renovated, but hotwater was nonexcisting... More

As others have mentioned, the strength of this place is its location. For the money it is good. The rooms are old and in need of some investment/updating. However, they are CLEAN. This is a clean hotel and as such a good option for exploring Istanbul. The staff was very helpful.

We come to Istanbul every year and we have stayed here 4 times the past 9 years. It's a good location, about a 10 min walk to the tram and Grand Bazaar and walking distance (1-3km) of most of the main tourist attractions and restaurants. The service here is always terrific. It's a 3 star hotel, so a bit older... More

For a several day business trip this was O.K., but not longer. The streets around the hotel are poor and not high class at all, but give a good idea of average city life in Istanbul. The room was not ver well lit, and AC not not work well. Beware there is a mosk right around the corner that screams... More

The hotel is located in the old town within walking distance (or two tram stops) of some of the most popular sights, e.g. Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar. A tram stop is only about three minutes away from the hotel, with trams taking you across the city. The tram service is reliable, prices are very low. So much for the good... More
