Sultan hostel is a great place to stay, great location, friendly staff who are very helpful. Myself and partner had our own room which was good bit small but that's the only down side. The food at the hostel was good to. But most of all the atmosphere was great- really made you feel like you where getting abit of... More

The Sultan Hostel is a very good place to stay. The staff are extremely friendly. Ercan, Enes and all the troop of guys were always willing to help. Food is also good and the location is awesome. Totally recommended, specially if you are in on a tied budget.

We had a 3 person private room for 5 nights. The room itself was adequate, although the bathroom was a bit tricky to use as it was all in one space so when we showered the whole room got wet. However, beds were comfortable, it was fairly quiet and, best of all air-conditioning that worked properly! The breakfast was just... More

when we arrived nearer midnight after a gallipoli tour- the place was abuzz with loud music, conversation, dancing- basically young people enjoying themselves. in our 60s we didnt really fit the scene, but i was so relieved when shown our dorm that it was really quiet. the whole place seemed really friendly, including the young women in our dorm who... Great Hostel in the Sultanhamet district just a fe minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Great Staff, brilliant bar and goodish food on offer. Good free breakfast, offer airport transfers to S Gocken and Ataturk, really enjoyed our stay. One shower and toilet per floor (approx 16people) but never had to wait for them. Good rooms.

I stayed the Sultan Hostel for one night only because I was stopping over in the city because I was going on a busabout tour through the Balkans by coach. However, I was keen to see as much of the city as possible too in the short time that I was there. This hostel was perfect for such a stay.... More

Location is good as it is only a short walk from the Blue Mosque and nearby tram stop. We stayed in the 10 Bed dorm, the beds were comfy and while it was a skinny rectangular room we didn't feel the space was too small. Additionally each bed had its own power point and the wifi worked okay in the... More

Great location, close to all of the main sites like the blue mosque, topkapi palace etc. The rooms were nice and clean, as were the bathrooms. There was a great atmosphere and the staff were so helpful and made our trip very entertaining. Would definitely recommend others to stay there.

Definitely definitely stay here. The location is extremely Central, just a 5 minute walk to the Sophia mosque and blue mosque. The free breakfast is so delicious (olives, cereal, veggies, coffee and tea and juice) an served by the really nice staff, especially Mahsum who was super friendly and helpful. Definitely reccomend staying here👍 The rooms are great, power points... More

I stayed only two nights in this hostel. The rooms were clean, the bar/restaurant outside was great to chill and enjoy Shisha. The only setback is the leaking shower head and the squeaky beds. Otherwise I would defiantly recommend this place as its a value price for location.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
