A small lighted sign on a dark alley ushers you to this hotel. The interior is dark and damp. The stair leading to our room was narrow and treacherous. The carpert is all worn out. Our room though had clean sheets and comfortable pillows which accorded us a comfortable sleep. The breakfast is a buffet of bread, olives, boiled eggs,... More

The good: Rather central, situated in the old area of Istanbul. It is close to everything yet it is located on a very quiet street. There are some shops where you can get groceries and drinks but you also have some cafes nearby. The staff was helpful and friendly. The place has a very nice terrace on the top floor,... More

I spent one night in Istanbul Paris Hotel before leaving to South-West Turkey. I needed a hotel that is in the middle of Sultanahmet, serves buffet breakfast (more choices) and is reasonably priced. Although around Sultanahmet I could find even cheaper hotels I chose Paris Hotel because it is just next to Sultan Ahmet Camii (Blue Mosque), getting there is... More

I stayed in this place for nine days: 5 days and then again for 4 days In my first five days I was not advised by the receptionist about breakfast being served there which cost me in total around 35 Euros. This hostel is humble, clean and very well located. Most staff are friendly. It's a stone throw away from... More

Nice staff, great location (Close to Ortaklar, the best of the cheap restaurants in the area, by far!), modest, a little bit depressing decoration and breakfast. Bathroom ha no curtain to spearte the shower from the rest, and hot water is intermitent (I guess it depends on the number of people showering at the same time in the hotel). All... More

Very cool and nice staff. One of the best location in Sultanahmet region! Everything very close to hotel. Also nice price for such facilities. I would recomment to stay doesn't matter if you're alone or with your friend. You will get also good and simple breakfast for free!

It's very nice place located in quiet street and just near historical center (3 min from Sultanahmet squire) and near tramway stop "Cembirlitas" (3 min too). There are a few shops in 2 minutes by walk where you can by some products and another necessary if you wish. Breakfast (from 7.30 to 10) is enough for being satisfied. The street... More

The only good thing about the hostel was its location - a 5-7 minute walk from the Blue Mosque/ Hagia Sophia. Otherwise, the hostel/ hotel was quite bad. The room we stayed in was not clean, plaster was coming off the walls and on to our clothes. It was not cleaned on a daily basis as well. We booked the... More

Great location, juat a few minutes away from the old center, Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque. Perfect for budget travelers that just need a clean and relatively quiet place to sleep. Besides this, you shouldn't expect too much, considering the price paid... rooms are very small, bathroom a bit problematic and the internet connection functions very bad.

Pros: - good location Cons: - filthy bathrooms where the shower water got EVERYWHERE (no curtains), doors didn't lock - Staff were not very helpful when asked questions/recommendations/etc. They didn't go out of their way (like people in other places in Istanbul and Turkey) to give you the best experience. Not helpful at all. - Breakfast was not included for... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
