We spent our first 6 nights in Istanbul in Saruhan. We loved the hotel as it was located in a slightly less touristy part of Sultanahmet. There were plenty of original Ottoman style houses around, tiny winding streets, kids playing and local shops as well as nice low key tourist restaurants. It was a nice mix. The breakfasts were wonderful...
