Great location about 5mins from blue mosque, lots of restaurants near by. Comfortable rooms and clean. The best thing is the social atmosphere that the staff try to make. It's easy to meet people on the roof terrace, which has good views; and the pub crawl is great. You'll visit 4 or 5 places and see bars and clubs that... More

Great location in Sultanahment just meters from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia et al. Staff friendly and helpful. Large selection for breakfast. Rooftop terrace was really nice with views over the Bosphorus. Slight shortage of shower and toilet facilities but didn't affect my stay at all

Stayed here in mid July, was my first stop in Turkey and the staff (Mehmet, Ugur)‎ were very friendly and was the perfect introduction. I stayed in the 14 bed dorm and made some great friends with fellow travellers. The dorm has lockers and curtains for every bunk, as well as 3 showers/toilets. It was a very social hostel which... It was wonderful moment of my life. Hotel located in the heart of my beloved city. There are many cafes and restaurants near the hotel. Recently renovated, it kept clean and shine. My favorite view of the Bosphorus from the nice terrace. Comfortable rooms - great big bed, goog pillows, cosy blankets, new towels. Good located on the Sultanahmet tram... More

Big Apple was one of the best hostels we stayed at in Turkey. Big spacious dorm room with lockers underneath their super comfy beds. Curtains were installed around all the beds which gives you privacy and blocks out the light. Buffet breakfast provided with good selection including cereals, fruits, and your traditional Turkish breakfast. The number one pub crawl in... More

Best hostel in Istanbul. Hotel -like facilities and the best free breakfast I've ever had in a hostel. Located near all the big sights. The day trips, walking tours, and pub crawls are absolutely not to be missed! Jerry and Berry make sure that you are always having a good time and show you the hidden jems of the city.... More

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Excellent location close to main attractions and metro station. Friendly staff. Free buffet breakfast which was amazing with free coffee and tea 24/7. Air Conditioned room, each bed had its own powerpoint and curtains for privacy. A secure locker that fits entire suitcase with keys provided. Safe deposit boxes in reception, free... More

The location is excellent, near the Blue Mosque and She Sophia. Breakfast on the terrace is really nice and has a espresso machine. The female dorm I stayed in was for 4 and had his own bathroom. It is not really big but very clean. WiFi just ok in room but fine in lounge area. I would recommend this place.

I chose this hostel on Hostelworld for the atmosphere - there were tons of great reviews about the Pub Crawl and I thought it was going to be a really lively hostel. In reality, the place is incredibly nice and super comfortable, but definitely more of a hotel than a hostel. There was no community atmosphere to speak of on... More

The lounge area, hallway and room were clean and well-lit. Shower facilities is above average. Breakfast was very good, comes with different salads, bread, pastries, hot and cold beverages. Excellent for a bed and breakfast place. Wifi signal were also above average.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
