Our room was comfortable and what would be expected for that price range. It was very clean and secure. While the decor was on the older side, it did not make our stay less appealing. The staff were always attentive and friendly and offered great advice on things to do and places to go in Istanbul. The location is quiet... More

Favorite hostel I've ever stayed at. Modern. Very clean. Beds are cleaned every day. Working A/C that worked fantastic. Privacy curtains for every bunk and a nightlight. Decent breakfast for the fact that it's free. Rooftop by the Marmara Sea. AWESOME staff. Front desk guys always make sure you are happy. This hostel has an amazing pub crawl held several... More

Stayed there from the 21 th of october the 27 . The staff is very social and talkative and makes an effort to make sure that you feel at home. Great location 5 minutes of walk from wonders like Blue mosque. Topkapi palace . Agia sofia and Basilika Cistern. Great plus is that the hostel is a meeting point for... More

I really appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hostel. The view from the roof during breakfast was amazing. The location in Sultan Ahmet is very central and is only about 2 blocks away from the Blue Mosque. I highly recommend!

Great location about 5mins from blue mosque, lots of restaurants near by. Comfortable rooms and clean. The best thing is the social atmosphere that the staff try to make. It's easy to meet people on the roof terrace, which has good views; and the pub crawl is great. You'll visit 4 or 5 places and see bars and clubs that... More

Great location in Sultanahment just meters from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia et al. Staff friendly and helpful. Large selection for breakfast. Rooftop terrace was really nice with views over the Bosphorus. Slight shortage of shower and toilet facilities but didn't affect my stay at all

Stayed here in mid July, was my first stop in Turkey and the staff (Mehmet, Ugur)‎ were very friendly and was the perfect introduction. I stayed in the 14 bed dorm and made some great friends with fellow travellers. The dorm has lockers and curtains for every bunk, as well as 3 showers/toilets. It was a very social hostel which... It was wonderful moment of my life. Hotel located in the heart of my beloved city. There are many cafes and restaurants near the hotel. Recently renovated, it kept clean and shine. My favorite view of the Bosphorus from the nice terrace. Comfortable rooms - great big bed, goog pillows, cosy blankets, new towels. Good located on the Sultanahmet tram... More

Big Apple was one of the best hostels we stayed at in Turkey. Big spacious dorm room with lockers underneath their super comfy beds. Curtains were installed around all the beds which gives you privacy and blocks out the light. Buffet breakfast provided with good selection including cereals, fruits, and your traditional Turkish breakfast. The number one pub crawl in... More

Best hostel in Istanbul. Hotel -like facilities and the best free breakfast I've ever had in a hostel. Located near all the big sights. The day trips, walking tours, and pub crawls are absolutely not to be missed! Jerry and Berry make sure that you are always having a good time and show you the hidden jems of the city.... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
