We chose the hotel as it was highly recommended by a family friend, I must stay it did not disappoint! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They recommended local entertainment (show), as well as the best route to visit attractions in the area. The hotel's location makes it easy to visit major landmarks in a matter of minutes. The... I spent five nights at this delightful hotel on vacation in October 2015. We chose it for its location to the must see sights in Old Town and for the view of the city from the restaurant/lounge at the top. Upon arrival we found that the restaurant view was indeed wonderful and even closer to the Blue Mosque than we... More

My group of 10 stayed for a week at the Adamar Hotel in central Istanbul in May, 2015. The entire experience was excellent. The breakfasts were beautifully prepared and fresh, the rooms were clean, bright and comfortable and the dinners in the Panorama Restaurant on the roof were some of the best in the city (aside from the spectacular view).... Cute hotel, centrally located in the old district. Walking distance to Aya sofia, the cistern, the blue mosque, and several baths. Incredible views of Istanbul from the rooftop restaurant. Robes and slippers provided!

Location in Sultanahmet is close to many top historic sights. Great views of Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque from roof terrace and restaurant - especially at night. Excellent breakfast. Halil staffing front desk was extremely helpful with excellent English. All staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean although our room on the first night was cramped - were moved to... More

This was our first time in Istanbul, the place is awesome because is close to the train and the view is awesome... The blue mesquite and Santa Sofia... WOW! Even all the museums from the card are just in some minutes walking, the people is nice, even some of them speak Spanish. The breakfast was ok, you can ask for... More

We chose Adamar because of its proximity to the many amazing attractions Istanbul has to offer: it is steps from the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and many other historic sites. It is also a very short walking distance to two train stations, making it very easy to get around the rest of the city. But even if you... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
