The best thing about this hotel is the location! It's close to all the historical sites, restaurants and the tram. Breakfast was good, with the option of omelettes, crepes etc. We had the deluxe room which had a great view of the sea but was rather small but clean. Wifi was great.

We chose this hotel because it is in the center of all the tourist action in Old Istanbul and had great reviews. Our stay did not disappoint. Walking distance to restaurants, attractions and shopping at the Grand Bazar. The room was large enough for our family of four. The staff at the hotel was very attentive and helpful. Breakfast each... More

The hotel is located within 10-15 walk to all the sights. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant provides a panoramic view across the city and the Bosphorous Sea. The breakfast is very good and has a good selection.

We loved the hotel. It was our first trip to Turkey, and going up to the roof terrace and seeing a panoramic view of some of Istanbul's most fantastic sights was thrilling and a great way to begin our stay. Our room was on the third floor in the front, very large and bright with a very good bed. The... More

It was our first visit to Istanbul and after reading a variety of reviews of what district to stay in, I was even more confused. As we were travelling in a group of 3 (a couple and a single) I was hunting around for apartment accommodation. It all got too hard. As my travel agent was also booking us an... More

Four of us stayed at this hotel. Room on the fifth floor was bit smaller, but nicely done. It had french (king) size bed, sofa with memory foam, and rollaway bed for kids. TV had over 300 channels from many countries. Breakfast was served with number of dishes for every taste, including fresh fruit selection. Location of the hotel is... More

The hotel was ok, could use some updating. The features that would draw me back to the Adamar was the helpful and very friendly staff, coupled with a very central location close to literally EVERYTHING! The hotel sits on a very congested corner and we were drawn to creativity of the Turkish drivers when dealing with limited street space. I... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
