We stayed four nights in this centrally located hotel and were impressed with the location ( walk to everywhere very easily) the friendliness of the staff plus the breakfast and breakfast room. Some have mentioned the rooms were small however we were lucky to get a four poster bed with plenty of room space. Throughly recommend this hotel

We stayed there over new years. The first room we had was very small. So I asked for a bigger room which we got. The hotel is very cetral for sighseeing and strolling through old-town Istanbul. The tram stops nearby. Breakfast was simple with a touch of local. Someone might find it repetitive but we didn't as we liked the... More

We stayed in this hotel on our trip to Istanbul in December 2014 and stayed there for New Years' Eve and some days more. Staying in this hotel was, no doubt, one of the best decisions for that trip to Istanbul. The first reason is the location. You are literally 5 minutes away from Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern, etc. From... More

This hotel is conveniently located near the Sultanahmet tram stop, as well as the Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Topkapi Palace. There are many inexpensive - but very good! - restaurants in walking distance. The staff is wonderful! Very accommodating, they even made me a sandwich to take to the airport for my very early morning flight. The... More

The hotel and staff were fantastic, words will not be able to describe how perfect it was. The staff were very helpful and nice. Two particular members of staff Halil and Sonar met every need of my family and ensured our stay was comfortable. Halil was very helpful on giving us advice on what would be the perfect trip and... The location is excellent, 30 mins from airport via a taxi and 5 mins walk to Blue mosque & Cistern. The hotel is small, 5 rooms on each floor, identifical layout and at least 2 or 3 of these rooms are very small so you maybe lucky or unlucky. We had a double room but no space at the end of... More

We booked direct and got 2 nice rooms, spacious and well decorated. breakfast was plentiful and served on top floor restaurant with great views. location is near all key sites in old town and 10 mins walk from Grand Bazaar. Near to hop-on-off bus stop and some very... More

This hotel is fantastic, located in the heart of the old city, well priced for the location, walking distance to all the tourist sites, some people say the hills are too much but I am definitely not fit and the hills did not cause me any issues. We went to breakfast and the Hagia Sofya was just there in the... More

I got a recommendation from a frien whose opinion I really value and I was not disappointed. The location is terrific. Made seeing the sights easy as I could take breaks from the heat during the middle of the day and pop in and out easily. Staff were friendly, helpful and a delight to come back to and the rooftop... This hotel is in the heart of the old city and convenient to all the things you would want to see. The rooms are comfortable, the roof top restaurant is wonderful and had views you cannot get enough of. The best part of this hotel is the staff. They go above and beyond to make you comfortable and to arrange... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
