Hotel Uzbekistan is well known in Tashkent. I found it to be more interesting from the outside than the inside, however. The rooms were run down with old furniture and worn carpeting. There was an abundance of storage in the room (which I don't understand considering most people would only stay a few days) and if you looked through the... More

Hotel Uzbekistan is well situated in the centre of Tashkent. It's a big typical Russian style building, with wide rooms, but not clean and very old. Bathrooms and the common areas were well below the expectations! I think we should have definitely found a better accomodation to stay!

Stayed two nights here, one at the start of our trip around Uzbekistan & one at the end. While the outside of the hotel and the reception area is rather grand and imposing, it's mostly downhill from there. Good sized twin room at the front of the hotel felt grubby from the stained carpets to the rusty and mouldy bathroom.... More

This hotel is very big, it looks a bit of an eyesore from the outside, however it is better inside, there is a small cafe selling snacks, tea and coffee, it has a quaint gift shop. I found the staff very helpful. The rooms were ok, nothing wonderful, a bit shabby I would say. The breakfast was a buffet, and... More

The impressive building of the Hotel Uzbekistan is situated in the spiritless new center of town. Around are only squares, boulevards and styleless modern buildings, no restaurants or shops. The rooms are acceptable, but nothing more than that, the airco does not always work well. The personnel treats the visitors with disdain, service and friendliness are unknown concepts. The food... If you think you are spending money, don't prefer this hotel. The rooms are not good at all. The Continental Buffet breakfast is not good at all and the service is not good. The room AC's donot work. Prefer to carry your umbrellas as it usually rains. Also donot prefer to get your USD converted to there currency as you... More

having read some reviews I was expecting a more dated Hotel than we found. We were pleasantly surprised as our room was modern, clean and spacious with a great view. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast more than sufficient. Hotel staff were obliging and spoke English. Good lifts and nice restaurant on the top floor. The unusual facade of this... More

I stayed in the hotel because it was in the right location for my business there. It was also good value. Many of the other reviews I would agree with. The carpets are grim and should be replaced. The plumbing is a bit temperamental but it didn't stop me showering or washing when I needed. The bed was comfortable and... More

I stayed at the beginning and end of a tour in May and was more impressed with this hotel than expected given some previous reviews and the hotel's appearance. The rooms were spacious, the bed comfortable with clean sheets, the water hot, and a great view over Amir Timur park (if your room is at the front). OK, so the... More
