We stayed here as part of a Cox & Kings tour of Uzbekistan. It was perfectly acceptable, but no real local character. Breakfast buffet was good. Pool looked inviting but we did not have time to use it! more

First of all: The Tashkent Palace hotel isn't part of the Meridien group anymore. We stayed there two times in the last month. Both times our bath towels resembled more a floor cloth than anything else. The first time we had a sleazy room which smelled after tobacco although it was a non smoking room. The second time we were... more

Spent first and last nights here on a Cox and Kings tour of Uzbekistan. Wonderful location opposite the Opera House (alas, closed on Mondays, our last night) and comfortable spacious rooms and bathrooms. The beds too hard for me but better than many in hotels in the East, and lots of pillows to soften the impact. VERY powerful showers, but... more

I stayed here for two nights in August 2008 and, despite some flaws, I thought the hotel was basically fine; I would stay here again if my travels took me back to Tashkent. Positives: - The hotel is an excellent location directly west of the Opera House. There are numerous restaurants, cafes, and shops within walking distance of the hotel.... more

No longer part of the Meridien Chain (most international chains have moved out of Tashkent in the past couple of years), but still up to international standards. Exactly what you would expect from an average Meridien - clean, modern, reliable and well sized room. Hopefully the hotel management will maintain these standards in the future. Wonderful for a rest after... more

The Tashkent Palace was a nice hotelin 2004. Now, they have closed the restaurants with exception to the piano bar which can make for quite a long wait at the pool for a cocktail. The rooms are ok, toiletries are "Days Inn" quality andthe sheets make your skin itch constantly. the reception associates are friendly and helpful though. I would... more

The Tashkent Palace Hotel - formerly of the Le Meridien chain - is what you would expect of a hotel formerly of an international chain: nice, clean, comfortable, a bit generic ([--]). The bathroom was quite nice with a wall-mounted hair dryer. We bought snacks at the Mir Store ([--]) grocery store. (Exit the front of the hotel, and you're... more

This hotel was extremely nice and was a great place to stay during my visit to Tashkent. The hotel atmosphere was great and would probably be a five star rating here in the states. They have got currency exchange in the hotel, a bar, a restaurant where they serve probably the best food that Tashkent has to offer. For a... more

The above reviewer is right on the money about this hotel. The location cannot be beat - right in the center of town with the Navoi Opera, Amer Timur museum, main pedestrian shopping street (Broadway), and other attractions all within very easy walking distance. Metro is only a few minutes walk away. The hotel is clean and comfortable. I recommend... more

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times on short business ventures to Tashkent. The hotel is excellently run and is extremely comfortable. The rooms are lovely, and the beds are some of the best I've ever slept in. The staff are friendly and extremely accommodating. In terms of location, it's opposite the opera house (quite lovely, with tickets for... more
