Amazing spot, beautiful and modern building with lovely understated furnishings.... Most delicious sri lankan curry we have had yet! Kindest staff. Awesome location and easy to access many attractions on tuk-tuk.

The hotel itself has a tranquil atmosphere, cool chilling area, and comfortable rooms. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The offer a variety of foods but we stuck with Sri Lankan for breakfast which was a great decision. A perfect amount of spice to start our day. The location was great! It was a nice walk to the beach and... More

Staying at Lake Lodge is that special place in Colombo that feels like a home: quiet, charming, comfortable and with that personal service that distinguishes it from larger hotels. Morning breakfast is a delight (order the Sri Lankan option the night before) - and sit (in tranquility) looking at a quiet park and birds, with glimpses of Beira lake in... More

And so our final night in Sri Lanka...this is a small personal hotel/guesthouse with few rooms so the service is wonderful and the staff are cheerful, friendly and attentive. The decor is unique; beautifully designed with delightful bird drawings adorning the walls. Although in Colombo, the hotel is in a very quiet location. Ravi and Raj made us very welcome.... More

A haven of peace, spacious and a warm feel were my first impressions. We stayed here on our first night in Sri Lanka and were really happy with our choice. The room and bathroom were large and simply decorated with a lovely big, warm shower and comfortable bed. In fact the whole place was tastefully decorated, with a sense of... More

We started off our journey in Sri Lanka with one night's stay at the Lake Lodge. Situated smacked in central Colombo it is very convenient. Besides the location it showcased great service and clean rooms. Breakfast is decent too. Good value for money.

I have stayed in this place twice during my visit and have enjoyed the quiet setting, services of very friendly staff and the Sri Lankan breakfast tastefully prepared. Very close to the Beira lake with scenic views. Good for walks. Will stay here again.

Nice hotel, clean and the food was fine. Our room was large and clean with a good sized bathroom. Our room was beside the eating/bar area and in the evening there was some noise (although not too loud) and it finished around 10pm but the worst part was smoke drifting under the door (it didn't last too long though). We... More

Stayed 2 nights before Sri Lanka tour. Great architecture, makes it cool. Fantastic attentive staff and good selection of food. Minor gripe, but nothing really, watermelon juice the only choice for breakfast, not a big fan. Highly recommended, walking distance to the beach, tuk tuk drivers on hand, honest and spoke passable English. Would stay again.

After reading the glowing reviews of earlier travelers, I was happy when my agent suggested this hotel for a 2 night stay at the end of our tour. Our room, 3, was a horrible, dark, depressing, tiny, concrete bunker. It was right next door to the kitchen, the meals area and the public areas. We could not open our curtains... More
