Please don't ever make that mistake of going there, the hotel is "terrible" the room door doesn't lock properly, you need to ask permission to get hot water. Internet connection is extremely poor. They over charge you and put things on your bill you didn't order and when you notice they say ok we'll remove. I ask to see the... More

I asked for a room high up as I could go and it turns out this was a good idea. The fresh air outside and turning on the fan in the room full blast cleared up the smoky smell that greeted me as I walked in. I liked that the room had numerous lights and although the air conditioning took... More

Don't be fooled by their own pictures and description: The place is dirty, run down and plain scary. Some would call it 'budget', but there is no value for money, so I'm calling it plain cheap. Ants in rooms, mould on walls, ACs dripping water on the bed. If you see any other options: Take them!

We a couple were looking for accommodation in Colombo city for one night and having seen this hotel had been recommended by LonelyPLanet we thought of checking in which we wouldn’t have done otherwise. We were charged Rs.5000 for a shabby, musty, smelly room which wasn’t specious at all, poor quality bathroom, not a drop of complementary water, uncomfortable bed... More

Very tiny and dirty hotel. Even lizards are in the room. Gallery between room is very thin. Every where hotel is full of smell. Even bed sheet to cover yourself in the night is not available. Pillows are very hard and dirty.

The only good thing was a smiling guy at the desk. it is shabby, dirty, no top sheet for the bed..tiny little dark place for breakfast. It would not even pass as a hostel. It is listed on Agoda and they have lost our business for that. I emailed 4 times to ask them to send a taxi to the... More

Stayed for one night. Needed budget accommodation as was flying out of Colombo the next evening. The room was very basic and not the cleanest. Bathroom is tiny and was filthy, obviously hasn't been cleaned in weeks. There wasn't enough space to even sit on the toilet as there was a pillar directly between your legs. Very annoyig! No toilet... More

We booked two nights here through Agoda at the end of the tourist season and just before the England cricket test match was due to begin so there weren't many options. The services was welcoming and friendly. The location means that tuk tuks are needed to get to most places but being relatively central these don't cost too much. They... More

You get what you pay for, I suppose. Unfortunately in Colombo, you have to pay a lot to get the bare minimum. There are few budget places to stay in Colombo. So Hotel Sansu would be one of these few options. At $32 US a night for a single room, most backpackers won't be pleased. But it's a serviceable option,... More

Don't expect a classy hotel, I come for the 2nd time in hotel Sansu, and it's perfect for a short stay in colombo. Cheap hotel and clean. The next day if you have a train this hotel is well situated from Fort railaway station, few minutes drive in tuk tuk.
