The location of this place is great. Central Colombo is right by your doorstep. More positives is that the breakfast is good and that it is an incredibly safe place. I was able to stay there since I went there with my girlfriend. In addition the staff is very accomodating as we were allowed to leave our bags there for... More

We stayed for one night at the YWCA and the only good thing about it is the location, very conveniently in the Kollupitiya area near the Fort. We stayed in a double room with fan and bathroom, but the room was not very clean, it was quite noisy and we payed 5000 rupees, which I think is quite expensive for... More

A lovely big charming room with seated area outside. Good breakfast in canteen. Strange manager who does run the place like a boarding school and is not so helpful. We arrived at 4 am to be told that we had no room because we did not confirm booking. So we slept or tried to sleep in uncomfortable chairs for a... More

Travellers to the YWCA Hostel in Colombo need to be mindful that this is not a hotel. And if you're thinking hostel in the 'lounge around on the wifi in communal areas, meet people and then head to a bar' type sense, you've got it wrong. Whereas in most countries the "C" in YWCA hostels can be largely ignored, this... More

Situated right behind the president's house (Temple Trees) in Kollupitiya, Colombo, the YWCA national headquarters is a dorm that is perfect for women travelling alone, women who need to stay for long durations, and for couples. I stayed here for 10 days, was charged SL Rupees 880 a night, and was given a room that was well lit, and very... More

For that price, 800rps, the place is great. Quite central, safe, lots of embassy around so police is around, as clean as it can be, i was in a 2 bed dorm only, common balcony to have a read. The bfast is 300rps and good. Recomend for one night or two in crazy colombo

The rooms are extremely basic but were the cheapest we could find in Colombo in a central locations. Most rooms in Colombo are ridiculously high and this was the cheapest option we found (Rs.2500 pp/per night). The rooms have a bed, fan and bathroom (double room for couples).

We stayed in this guesthouse because of a lack of alternatives in this price range and location in Colombo. An the location is by far the only reason to stay here. The atmosphere is more like a old fashioned boarding school for girls, completely rundown with an unfriendly lady at the check in desk. There are strict rules to follow.... More
