I stayed for 2 weeks in July-August 2014, solo female traveller, in the "budget single room". This place was perfect for me - it was small, quiet, friendly, away from the hectic centre and tourist hotspots. If you are here to party, this is maybe not for you. If you want somewhere relaxing for your holiday, or calm for work,... More

My partner and I stayed here for one night in a budget double room. The stay was very nice but very far from town and the sights, we had issues with finding tuk-tuks to take us back (didn't know where to go) and prices to and from the guest house. We also had issues with hot water in our room... More

Very good for a family with teenage kids. Best management thus far. where customers satisfaction if highest on their list. if i ever visit lanka I... More

Excellent service, staff is very helpful, very courteous, and go out of their way to help. Food is really home cooked! The free breakfast and free WIFI are added surprise for a very small hotel like this! When I booked the hotel through expedia, I requested for a first floor room, since I'm having trouble climbing stairs, what they did... More

Hotel Saffron is a small pearl in the heart of Nawala area of Colombo, tucked away in a small side street of Galpotha Road, and little known even among locals. I was here for a semi business trip for one week and right from the start I felt welcome and at home in this hotel. Basically managed by two charming... More

This was our first stay in Sri Lanka and we really enjoyed our stay here. The staff is really helpful and friendly and the food is basic, but good. The rooms are are also basic and clean. Colombo is a hectic city, so it was nice to retrieve back to this quiet sweet hotel. The hotel is about 20 mins... More

First off, for the most part, there are only high-end and low-end hotels in Colombo, but with that said this is as close to the middle-of-the-road as you will find and at a very reasonable rate. It is more of a bed and breakfast but the management do go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable in... More

We stood in The Saffron for two nights, after arriving in Colombo. The Guesthouse is locate in a quiet neighborhood but the city center is good to reach by Tuk-Tuk (ca. 20 min./ $3) The service was very friendly and attentive. Even though we arrived late at night they prepared delicious food for us. The rooms were simple but containt... More

The Saffron is a very small and cute hotel, excellent service - the staff are very attentive without being annoying which is refreshing and really helpful with information on the area. Breakfast was just eggs but for a short stay this is fine! Rooms are comfortable and clean, and the shower was nice and hot most of the time. Air... More

Location of the hotel is very far off from the main areas. Its located in a residential district. But the owner of the place was very very helpful especially arranging transport, as it can get very difficult to get any rickshaw or taxi from the hotel's location.
