This is my 3rd stay in this Villa. I have been travelling to Colombo for business in the last 6 months. I must say this villa is located right in the middle of the city which makes it easy for me to go around. A lot of embassy and nice houses are around which makes me feel safe to even... More

I'm really disappointed in this hotel. It's in a good location, staff are pleasant however the cleanliness is poor. We had a large room but it reeked of stale smoke. The sheets were marked and curtains stained, the bath had dirt marks around the tub. There were works (drilling and hammering) up until 10pm and started again at 7am. The... More

Arrived at 2 am. Place was, not unexpectedly, locked up. The receptionist cum porter was rather sullen, probably sleepy. I wasn't expecting a exuberant and chirpy welcome at 2am, but I have arrived at 2 am before and I had received a warmer welcome from another boutique hotel before. Small point. The room was nicely furnished though I was rather... More

Breakfast is a pain in the buds, the Menu says: this and this or this and this, I had every single Morning to shout at the waiter, to make him understand, that I want the items, I order. next time, on that side of Colombo, I stay at the Mount Lavinia again Even if the most of the personal is... Stayed one night here and the hotel itself was beautiful. Good value as well for the Executive with the meeting room which gave us a lot of space. Despite being in central Colombo the hotel is very quiet. The upstair pool area is beautiful as well. What really did let things down was the breakfast, french toast was one slice... More

It was a surprise to find such a warm and elegant hotel. I liked his touch to be at home. The rooms are very clean, spacious and with all the proper details of a boutique hotel: sandals, robe for bath, good shower pressure, ecc. Breakfast is a la cart, no buffet but I recommend to ask for the Sri Lankan... More

This is without any doubts my first pick in Colombo. I only stayed at Cinnamon Grand (see my other recent review) the night before because I need a comparison for Business Purposes. Truth be told, CG has much better food selections, and much greater choices for your meetings. Zylan on the other hand, only has two dining facilities (with just... More

We stayed here after taking the train from Kandy and before leaving the following morning for Galle. Super easy check-in and check-out process and helpful and friendly front desk staff. The space is great - very open and airy, quite comfortable. The beds were the plushest we slept on in Sri Lanka, and the room design -- cool, modern, but... More

My wife and I had a one night stay here on a transit stop. We were exhausted when we arrived in the morning. The staff were lovely and made up our room and gave us an early check in. We were able to get some sleep during the day. However due to our jet lag and the constant barking of... More
