We stayed 2 nights for the Nomads festival and it was a great camp. We stayed in an ensuite room which actually turned out to be a motel room which was wonderful. Heat, nice bathroom and a view of the camp and river which of course gers do not have. Food was good and varied and it had lots of... More

The brochure really seemed impressive, however, reality was totally different. The gers are run down, the staff uninterested, the food on the first night was good but after that, it seemed someone else was doing the cooking. The staff were incapable of lighting the fires in the gers, not good when the temperature drops below freezing! This camp does have... More

After staying GObi Desert for the past few days with limited clean water and electricity supplies, this camp provides unlimited clean and hot water for shower is "heaven". The staff here have arranged a horse riding activity, price is very reasonable and it was a great fun. Ger camp here is clean and food is good too

This may have been a fine ger camp back when it was new. But the management has not maintained the property and it is falling apart. The wooden doors on the gers are rotting, paint peeling, and poorly patched together. The camp promotes fishing, but has only two rods and reels, neither working. The stretch of river where the camp... More

We spent two nights in the Gun-Galuut National Park, around 3 hours from Ulan Bator. The first night we stayed at the Steppe Nomads Camp. It is beyond expectation in all aspects. It is situated in a plain, just off the Herlen River, it has the most scenic location and since it is next to the river, water sports are... More

Steppe Nomads tourist camp is about a 3 hour drive from UB. There are several stops that can be made on the drive - for another discussion. The camp is clean, well laid out, good dining Ger. Members of our group went horse riding , hiking along the river, fishing. A 4th of July camp fire was made along the... More

Located about 2,5 hours away from Ulaan-Bataar this place offers pure calimity as it is completely remote and severed from the rest of society. Beautiful vistas, lakes and rivers, this place truly is breathtaking. Great and friendly staff, some speak english. The gers are charming and comfortable. A wide array of activities to do. Kayaking, hiking, fishing and horseriding. Definetely... More

I really enjoyed past stay at this camp (during the summer). When I heard about them being open for winter, I was excited. I took my grandmother & relatives for a nice vacation for a few days, but it was a total disaster. We drove about 3 hours just to reach this place only to find two security folks who... More

We loved our cozy ger and really appreciated Moo-ghee who would come by each evening to see if we wanted the fire lit. We liked the food here. The bathrooms were kept clean. It was noisy at night when we were there with carpenters working until 2 in the morning. We found out later that they were expecting a large... More

Mongolia is a breathtaking, beautiful, friendly country of wide open spaces and big skies! All of this and more at the Steppe Nomads Camp which was the last stop on our tour of Mongolia. The staff were so helpful and smiley, the gers were comfy and the restaurants and bathroom facilities spotless. Me and my new found besties on tour... More
