After travelling around Mongolia we are happy to find a nice hotel with excellent buffet type breakfast and relatively good Internet. Rooms are large, beds are really hard. Private parking in a closed lot.

The Zaluuchuud is one of the older socialist era hotels. On the positive side there is the central location with numerous restaurants nearby and the relatively affordable price by UB standards. Moreover we found staff to be always friendly and helpful. That being said, breakfast is okay and rooms are acceptable. Unfortunately when we stayed there was no hot water... More

Very spartan. I had a sinsle room. Very very small, the bathroom, smaller snd falling apart. The bed had a vally. But, it's Mongolia, not London. I had hot water, the breakfast is good if you compare it to China, and the staff speaks English. Close to all important places, Atm nearby, supermarket. Free wifi!

This Russian looking hotel was within easy walking distance of the square, museums, monuments, and shops. The facilities were ok we weren't expecting the very best some rooms had showers that worked better than others. It was easy to walk and find places to eat, etc. We found people helpful and plenty of people spoke English and were happy to... More

This hotel is well worn. Was not expecting too much as I had read the reviews for it but was hopeful. The second floor rooms have a problem with getting hot water. After being without bathing facilities for a few days I was looking forward to a warm/hot shower. Not to be. There is no elevator and lugging baggage up... More

Hotel booked through Zavkhan Trekking and was completely satisfied with the room and service. I think travelers tend to forget that UB has only been open to tourism for a couple of decades and standards are not the same as more developed countries. Zaluuchuud Hotel was clean, central and the staff were always friend and helpful (although English is limited).... More

I am not sure where to start here. When we were shown to our room the man asked to help us with our bags was lying on a couch in reception watching TV. The receptionist I think was asleep by the reception desk. We were shown to our room which had an unflushed toilet, a bed with blood stains on... More

They seem to be working on upgrading. I had 3 different rooms, each time they improved... The Zaluuchuud is working to improve. Beds vary from room to room, from shot to good. Be sure to check the slats most of the mattresses rest on, they may need to be adjusted as mine did which really helped. And let the desk... More

Well, Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore... It is UB. Unless you go to a 5 star hotel (SUPER expensive) this is as good as it gets. Location is very good. We stayed on the 4th floor (no elevator, heavy trekking gear...) Room 405 on the left side of the corridor as you enter, was good, quiet and quite... More

I booked and paid for this hotel through a travel agent (the rest of the tour was excellent). When I checked into this hotel the girl at the front desk found my reservation and insisted I had not paid. I gave her my credit card and thought she would find out later that I had paid prior to arrival. I... More
