Heads up! I am traveling to Ulanbaatar soon and came across this wonderful sounding place. A friend in Ulanbaatar checked it out and reported that the photos shown on the web site are for a permanently rented apartment and NOT what you will get if you reserve space with them. Other than that, I can't say. I think it is... More

Eiggy was the Friendly/Helpful owner. Booked the most expensive apartment with cooker, washing machine and safe for 3 weeks but given a different one but no reduction in price, however on mentioning this Eiggy did her utmost and found us a safe place for our passports ect within the apartment and provided a brand new cooker for the apartment !... Positives: Location is central Not like a hostel, but an apartment where you get a key. This could be good or bad depending on what you want. Power sockets and lights in beds Wifi Negatives: 10-12 beds, one tiny tiny bathroom and separate toilet, could be a huge wait Kitchen filthy and not much equipment or crockery. No kettle, slow... I stayed there on and off for two weeks over the summer, and quite frankly I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in UB. Eiggy is wonderful. She speaks fluent English and is willing to help with your questions and queries, and is always just a phone call away! The rooms, if small, are clean and comfortable, all the dorms... More

UB seems to have accomodations that are either too expensive for a parsimonious traveller or too rock bottom. I took the public bus from the airport and the woman conductor told me where to get off. I had trouble finding the MSGH and asked someone for directions. She not only telephoned, but walked me to the building. My first impression... More

*Location* The location is excellent, just behind the state department store. Close to the Nonin supermarket, bus stop, laundry, post office and major sightseeing destinations. *Service* The owner was very detailed and always remembered our demand. Helped us to arranging the transport in specific way. *Room* We stayed 2 types of apartment with 1 room on 2 visits. Both apartments... More

Location couldn't be better : central and near the State Department Store. The owner is extremely helpful and concerned and always available by phone when not actually there. Nice to have access to fridge, kitchen and good wifi. Access to the shower wasn't a problem when I was there - and the guesthouse was full throughout my stay. People tend... More

If you are looking for an inexpensive, clean place, with helpful staff, this is a good place to stay. The woman who runs the guesthouse is super helpful and fluent in English. She did an amazing job arranging reliable transportation for us. The hotel is clean and located a block from the state department store. There are numerous restaurants right... More

so, first off, i'll admit i didn't have the greatest impression of this hostel for a while. i hadn't taken down all of the information online on how to get to the hostel, and eiggy hadn't responded to my email on how to get from the train station to the hostel (in my opinion now, just walk, seriously), so i... Ulaanbaatar is hell. "Minegolia" is a country where you come to spend quite a bit of money to experience how life was BEFORE and immediately after industrial revolution. We spent two nights in UB at the beginning of our trip and after getting sick and tired of our crook driver we had to return from our all over Mongolia driving... More
