My stay was in August of 2011. I was with an Earthwatch group, and we spent time at Zaya's at the beginning and end of our trip. Zaya Hostel was a very well kept, clean, and the staff was kind and helpful when I had questions about seeing things, Mongolian phrases, or using their facilities. It's pricier than other hostels around UB, but is well worth the cost if you're looking for some quiet down time and privacy.

Nice place. zaya guest house -much better than UB's 3 star hotels: ideal location, reasonable cost, genune service, 24 hour wifi, helpful staff, freindly atmosphere for relax and open Mongolia

The Zaaya is the place to go in Ulaanbaatar. It has a common bathroom just as many of the budget options but not and many people per bathroom as other hostels. The location just off peace road is convenient and there are a lot of places to go just around the corner.
