The other reviews are accurate - Rivertime is the perfect place to relax, but close enough to Vientiane for you to be able to slot it into your Laos itinerary without much hassle. Run ethically and built with help from the local village community, we loved our time at Rivertime. Philip really looked after us and all staff were really... more

After visting Luang Prabang, my partner and I thought we would spend two nights at this eco-lodge during our stay in Vientiane. The lodge is located one hour's drive from the city of Vientiane. The setting is nice next to the river and in the middle of trees and bush. The accomodation is VERY basic, so be prepared. The accomodation... more

This is our first very bad review and is devastating to read. I have just spoken to our manager and he remembers these guests. In response the the critisism of no hot water, this seems to be due to the guest not knowing how to use the shower unit even though instructions are posted on the nearby wall - all...

I spent two nights at Rivertime Resort and had a very pleasant, relaxing time. The cabins, nestled among the trees, are self-contained and private and very comfortable. Note that they are not air-conditioned and mosquito nets are provided and recommended. The attached floating restaurant is open to the elements and extremely relaxing in its simplicity. The grounds of the lodge... more

Initially, we picked this resort because we saw that the reviews were really good in TripAdvisor, and we always like secluded place to commune with nature. One really big thing about this place is that the whole place was built without cutting down a single tree. The entire design of the resort is integrated into the existing space. Still, visiting... more

This reviewer stated that some of our cutlery was 'rusty'. After reading that, we immediately examined every piece of cutlery in our restaurant and while not able to find any rust, we found a very few pieces with tiny black dots (is that rust?) which we immediately removed. Please note that, while this guest did not appreciate our food, we...

The sticky rice was amazing. We lived in Thailand for six months and visited many Southeast Asian countries but, this resorts food was out of this world and it didn't hurt that TLC went into every dish. Philip the owner was friendly and made our stay extremely pleasant and the people we encountered were amazing. Vientiane, and the River Resort... more

We [two 'oldies'] booked for 10 days, stayed 11 and only had to leave as an NGO had earlier booked the whole place out. Philip [owner] offered his own place, even a tent, but we thought 'too much of a good thing ...' Boat trips, exploring schools and temples or just fresh coconut juice on the riverbank. Such a refreshing... more

For those of you who would like to step away from the hustle and bustle of whereever you are and enjoy some relaxing time in Laos, then this is the place. My wife, daughter (2 years old) and I found this resort on the net and stayed for a week. The staff are great, the weather was great, the ability... more

We happened upon Rivertime Resort and are extremely happy that we did. What drew us to this resort was the fact it had a playground. We have two young children 1yr and 3yr so we wanted to make sure they would have some fun. We arrived via the border from Thailand to Laos where they had someone waiting for us... more
