We stayed 2 nights at the Mali Namphu in the beginning of May 2009. We paid 25 usd per night (incl breakfast). We were satisfied of our stay there, but it was actually the first hotel we stayed in during our trip in Lao en Vietnam. Looking back, we must conclude that we stayed in hotels with a better price/quality.... more

My husband and I stayed at Mali Namphu for 2 nights while in Vientiane - the hotel was very clean with attentive staff and a lovely breakfast included in the price, especially as the courtyard setting for breakfast is delightful. However, the price was rather high ($24/night) considering the other options in Vientiane, especially if you can find another hotel... more

Hotel is in a great location, paid $23USD for a deluxe room with no window, but had a/c. Had a similar experience to another post, ask for help contacting a cooking school as we couldn't find it. They told us about one they knew of, but didn't know the number. There are 3 computers next to them and they refused... more

We stayed at this guesthouse on the basis of Tripadvisor and Lonely Planet reviews. I thought, "surely if it's number 1 here and 'Our Pick' on LP it has to be good..." How wrong I was! The location is definitely good. The staff are friendly. But that is pretty much it. When we first checked in, we were shown to... more

Mali Namphu is in a great location, pretty much in the centre... but then again Vientiane is small so most hotels are in a decent spot. Everything in Laos has gone up in price... this place is a good option. We paid $US25 a night for a good clean double room. more

All ok, location was probably the best part of this hotel. Seems a little overpriced at US$25. We were only there one night so hard to get a real feelling for staff and service. A few mosquitos in room on arrival but when we went out the staff sprayed and no problems after that. Everything was ok, just average. Short... more

Although it was okay, it was overpriced when compared to similar hotels in the city. We confirmed by email and stated we would be arriving late, which they confrmed. However when we arrived, we found our booking has been crossed through, and then they offered us only 1 night, instead of the 3 we'd booked. The room was okay, but... more

I stayed there 2 nights from 14 ~ 15th Feb. Nice clean rooms with air conditioning, quite shielded from the main street , located at namphuu fountain which is a landmark where a lot of tut tut drivers would know. Dont let me small entrance fool you , it opens up to the nice courtyard in the middle where you... more

We stayed at Mali Naphu Guest House for three nights in total - two nights on our way to Luange Prabang and one night on the way back. It was in a fantastic location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast provided was basic but good. On our first two nights... more

We needed somewhere to stay for one night in Vientane and the Mali Guest House was perfect. The location is great, very near to Joma for the best sandwhiches in the world I think. Also cash machines are close (important in Laos) and also in the centre of Vientane if you wanted to do some sight seeing. Clean rooms with... more
