Far from the river, the second we went in our room it smelled horribly of mildew and mold. Bathroom was dirty and stains on ceiling and walls. I wouldn't get in that pool if you paid me. The real disapointment at this place was the lady running it. I first past off the attitude due to the language barrier but... More

This hotel was disapointing for us. It's definitely not worth the 15 dollars. The rooms were not clean, the swimming pool was dirty, the wifi did not work, there's noise and the rooms were old and shabby. We made a reservation for three nights, but we left after one night. Fortunately the receptionist did not charge us for the other... More

I was pretty happy with this find - value for money, with a refreshing good-sized pool, AC and private bathrooms, not far from the heart of Vientiane. Don't come here expecting anything new or luxurious, but if relief from the heat in the pool and AC is what ur after at a decent price, I'd say give Villa Sisavad a... More

I'm quite disappointed with this GH after having decided for it based on the previous reviews. Room is dark, damp and had seen better days. Lot of mosquitoes. Ok there is a pool but this is not enough to make a good stay. Wifi is weak but look like it is the case in many places in Laos. Breakfast is... More

Stayed here for 3 nights. Staff does not speak/understand English. Wifi is very very slow, but free. It's 2km from downtown so be prepared to walk a lot, it's hard to get a tuktik from here. More

I enjoyed my stay in this friendly family run hotel. it is great value, better than any others I heard of, it's position is away from tourist area which I like, the pool was wonderful every afternoon. the breakfasts are good, and I would recommend it to those who don't demand super cleanliness, but just want to have a relaxing... For the forth time i have stayed at this run down Villa, my earlier visits were ok, the rooms were nice and clean enough and the swimming pool was not too bad. But this time I got the worst of all rooms n.14 (i hope there is no worst than this). Air conditioner old and noisy, had it to run... More

I found this guest house online an e-mailed the guest house to ask for a pickup from the Thai embassy where I was to be dropped off at from a mini-bus from Pattaya. They told me they only did pickups from the airport, which is further away! They seemed to be not too intersted in helping me give them business.... More

The big 'no-no' here is distance. According to the [Hobo] map of Vientiane, Villa Sisavad is in the distant North. On our 11th visit to this little city, however, we've learned to avoid the ever-inflating prices of tuk-tuks and walk: half an hour to the new Thai consulate; 20 minutes to riverside. The area isn't 'rough'; rather, working class [with... More

Villa Sisavad is a small family run place. Not all members speak English but someone is always around to assist. Remember Lao is fairly new to tourism and this is why we venture to these places. The family is very friendly and it is a safe place to stay. The rooms are clean, basic and very large with TV, ‘frig.... More
