To say this place is a dump is put too happy a face on things. Toilets in many of the rooms are missing seats, the air conditioning doesn't work--in fact almost nothing works, windows are missing panes of glass, the carpets haven't been vacuumed this decade. Our bathroom had black mold growing down from the ceiling and an equally moldy... More

Well- Much to my sadness and horror,my one favorite place to stay while visiting has been laid to waste. Its like a family member on life support with no real hope of recovering.."oh poor ole aunt connie, what should we do,continue tube-feeding her or just pull the plug"?...*please note there is no aunt connie and she is not ill, this is just... Old hotel (possibly not long for this world), & some of the staff slightly disengaged in that Lao way. Rooms small, musty. Wifi often so slow it's barely worth using. But cheap ($15 special on now) & 5-10 min walk from riverside. And quiet (mainly because there aren't many other guests). BTW: If you are coming to Vientiane to check... More

I stayed at this hotel (Asian Pavillion Hotel at 379 Samsenthai Rd in Vientiane, Laos) with my spouse and sister (two rooms) in November 2008 for two nights. We were in rooms 302 and 306, the rooms were a dumpster. We were deceived by the front and lobby part of the hotel. The hotel is located at a very convenient... More

Struggled to find accomodation in Vientiane & only after phoning around finally found a room here. In serious need of a face lift, but staff friendly & helpful. Room clean & comfortable. Quiet but centrally located. More

There was nothing extra special about this hotel. The more popular ones had been booked out and someone suggested trying it. They had tons of space and I finally ended up in a suite for $25. This suite was a very large cosy room with amenities. I never saw many people there but for the size of the hotel I... More

I stayed two nights at the Asian Pavilion in Vientiane in 11/2006. If you have other options - stay somewhere else. We stayed in their 'suite' for $50. I won't go into details but they tried to convince us a regular room was the suite first. The windows did not fit in the frames and there were no screens. I... More
