Room was OK; nothing outstanding but clean and large enough. Breakfast was good but somewhat limited in choices. Location is a convenient 3 min walk to the Night Market, and there's a convenience store around the corner on the riverfront road. Also, there's an ATM across the street. Being part of the Best Western group gets you points in the... More

It was the second time I stayed in this Hotel in the last three years and the hotel has improved. Ideal location near the Mekong river front and the night market, surrounded by lots of dining options. Rooms are large, with a work table (essential for business travelers like me) and electrical points. Clean and well serviced rooms. Breakfast options... More

Best Western We got off to a disappointing start to this hotel experience when I didn't get a response to my confirmation e mail and request for airline pickup until AFTER we had already stayed at the hotel and checked out! However, when we called from the airport, a driver was dispatched immediately, and we only had to wait about... More

I use to stay at this hotel since years. There must be reasons. A bit of nostalgia (why have they renamed the Taipan into an obscure and anonymous 'Vientiane hotel' ?), the location, the large rooms. Rooms are clean, staff friendly. Being part of Best Western brought in renovations, which are ongoing. At least one thing remained: still the slowest... More

When in Vientiane, Laos consider staying at the Best Western. The hotel is located on a vibrant street in the heart of old Vientiane and only a short walk to the Mekong River and Night Market. Nearby there is a pleasant linear park with a Buddhist Temple. Actually everything is in close proximity to the hotel. The rooms are large... More

This hotel is in a near perfect location. At the end of this quiet block is the night market along the river. Along the street and near by are numerous restaurants. Most tourist attractions are walking distance. Our hotel room was more than spacious, a large modern bathroom, and perfectly clean. The included breakfast was excellent.

A great, central location but this hotel is dated. While the rooms are clean and comfortable, AUD75/night felt like a bit of a rip. The pool was out of action due to renos, the breakfast just so-so. Staff were very nice and helpful. Wifi wasn't too bad.

The Best Western Vientiane was a last minute find. Not having booked a hotel before arriving i was pointed towards Rue Francois Ngin street which had a good choice of cafes to get a drink and use their wifi to find a hotel. The Best Western is on this street and offered a great deal per night with free internet... More

This place was in a good location, we could walk everywhere. Room was clean and functional, tv, fridge etc. Breakfast was a disappointment, just a bit lame. Though the hotel is located in the hub of cafes etc it was surprisingly quiet and we had a balcony over the street. Big Negative, INTERNET WAS USELESS, for a hotel costing AUD$100... More

The room is large, flat screen TV with satellite, clean, and good A/C. The front desk is always on duty and alert, very safe. The location is great for travel. Free breakfast both Western and Asian style that is very good.
