Mandala is more a large Guest House than a Boutique Hotel. My wife and I stayed here for two nights and were lucky enough to have the large suite with four-poster bed and large balcony. This made our stay very comfortable. However, the bathroom was very small and basic and the shower was luke warm (nearly cold!) Mandala is clean... More

We had to change rooms because they lost water in one of their buildings. The room they moved us to had no hot water. It was very cold. I would not recommend this hotel. The facility is nice enough but the water is a serious problem. We are moving to another hotel before our reservation is complete

Dear Customer We deeply regret that you had to experience a water problem at our hotel. Our septic system was being replaced in some of the rooms and that could have unpleasant effect on the other room. Shortly our plumbing problem will be solve and we could offer customers a a pleasant place to stay. We apologise for this inconvenience... More

Lonely wrote it was a chic hotel. Well, I would like to know where? It has a French restaurant with poor cuisine. The room in which I staid is big with a living room p, however the bathroom is so small in comparison, the plumbing of the toilets is not working and the water in the bathroom is weak. The... More

We spent 2 nights in the Mandala having moved from another Vientiane Hotel without spending a night there. Mandala has lovely clean rooms, courteous and helpful staff- some of whom speak English which isn't always the case in Laos, and an exceptional breakfast in a lovely room.

Although the building looks ok, it is need of refurbishment. In our room thr shower plumbing was held with sticky tape. The sink tap turn completely when turning the water on. The room was clean. Dinning on the other hand was very good. The service not faulted. What a shame the hotel let it down

We stayed in room 403 which is located at the back of the kitchen and service areas. We were told that we had been upgraded to a suite. There was a separate small lounge area and the bathroom was larger than average. However, the room was dingy, shabby and unappealing. The wall paper in the lounge area was stained, as... More

We stayed in Mandala for 3 nights and room was compact and good. Restaurant outside this property is bit expensive but very impressive menu. Walkable distance to COPE visitor centre, night market and Mekong Riverside Park. Lady at the reception in the morning time is very helpful and talk good English. Boy at evening time can put some smile on... More

A lovely hotel in an old building on the edge of town, it is a short tuk tuk drive or a ten to fifteen minute walk or so from the restaurants and bars in the town centre, the rooms are very tastefully furnished; ours had a four poster bed which was very comfortable. Although the furniture was lovely dark wood... More

From the minute we arrived until we left, there was hardly any conversation or smiles, nothing, the room was OK, as someone else wrote, "the staff were disinterested" and I'm afraid they are exactly right. Not quite sure why this should be, but I guess it starts at the top and certainly the receptionist/owner was probably the worst culprit Oh... More

For well under $100USD a very large suite at the front of the building, with a large balcony. A beautiful room, large and comfortable. Only slight was luke warm shower water, but hardly a tragedy. The woman at the front desk is soft spoken, kind, knowledgeable. The entire experience was lovely. It is about a 15min leisurely walk to the... More
