The room are pretty small for what you pay for and not the best location. The staff is great and speak good english. But they do have the best food in Laos. The hotel is a 4 but the restaurant makes it a 5.

This hotel is very cute. It has a charming little garden and a very nice restaurant on location. Once we arrived there, the staff was very friendly. We were four people and booked three superior rooms. I was lucky enough to get pumped up to Deluxe because all superiors were full. My room was therefore very nice - much better... More

This is a most welcoming hotel with a real family feel about it. It has a most accommodating manageress (Noy) who speaks excellent English. The room I had was relatively small, but more than adequate. AC works well and the whole hotel is very quiet and peaceful. Remember, I was there in the low season. Breakfast is a combination of... I was very happy to stay in this hotel. The rooms are cute with pretty small details (be ready to go to the toilet with no door ;) ). The main building is gorgeous! The breakfast is served in the yard in a beautiful yard building with lots of windows. Beautiful morning light! The location is great. Just a few... More

Mansion well converted to hotel, with a luxurious unit built on and a gazebo building bar and breakfast room. Unfortunately they were not ready for dinners, which meant a fairly long tuk tuk ride into town. We were fortunate in being moved to one of the new addition rooms, with a spectacular glass walled bathroom. Grounds and porches great for... More

I stayed three nights at the Mandala Boutique Hotel and I enjoyed it very much. The staff were helpful, the breakfast was lovely and the building evoked real charm. The position of the hotel is perfect : fifteen minutes away from the airport and about the same to the town centre. The hotel has a lovely garden and plenty of... More

This is a nice hotel in a quiet location. It is about 15 mins walk from donwtown Vientiane. There are a few things that could turn this from a nice hotel into a great hotel: 1. Need to have a better selection of pillows, the ones they have are rock hard and gave me a stiff neck 2. They are... More

We had booked a suite, expecting a terrace. We had a bathtub instead and whilst we did indeed have a terrace it was shared with the room next door. Hot water and lack of pressure seems to be a given in September asia and no different here. Staff with one exception lack any charm. I was attacked one evening just... More

#3 Spa Hotel in Vientiane
Official Description (provided by the hotel)
As Vientiane changes, so does our villa. Originally built as a private residence for a French family in the 1960s, the site became a school with up to 500 children in 1992 before it was turned into a hotel at the beginning of this century. Despite the changes, our guests still can feel the privacy and comforts of home in each corner of the hotel. The four original buildings host 23 newly designed rooms and are surrounded by a green and cozy garden with seats under large shady trees. The Mandala Boutique Hotel is located in a small side road away from the busy streets of Vientiane, but within walking distance to the city center and just a 15-minute drive from the airport. ... more   less
