Excellent accomodation and great restaurant but - there is nowhere to sit our lounge as it is literary rooms and restaurant. Also it is a fair way out of the city which means a long walk (45 minutes plus) which is not too good in the heat, or taxis.

Couldn´t agree more with an earlier reviewer “Cold Place in a Cold City”, "Soul-less". Most of the staff underwhelming (even for Laos). Internet extremely spotty to not there. We don´t understand the rave review in Lonely Planet. There were bicycles (at extra cost) but all of them didn´t work, staff not interested in getting them fixed (although there was a... More

I stayed for 3 nights after visiting Luang Prabang so it was always going to be hard to match it. This is a reasonably remote hotel although I was happy to walk back and forward to town. I'm not sure if its because the reception is divorced from most of the rooms but it does seem to lack a bit... More

Stayed here for two nights. Rooms were fine and reasonably well equipped, breakfast was enjoyable and there were plenty of places to sit and relax. However the hotel was generally soul-less. Located on the outskirts of the city but we found it reasonably easily walkable to the main attractions. We had excellent wifi connection.

It took a while for our driver to find this hotel, but once we arrived we were greeted with enthusiasm. The rooms are a fair size, and the bathroom is very large. The restaurant food was excellent and the staff were extremely helpful. Overall, this hotel was a pleasure to stay at.

The staff is super removed from what's happening. Not in a mean way, just in a I'm-somewhere-else soulless way. Nobody seemed to care one way or another about anything having to do with us. I don't have the words to describe the weirdness of it. Boring room. Not located near anything open after dark. A five minute walk from here,... More

The hotel was well designed decorated, in the meanwhile there was still something to impove in the bathroom. The garden looked lovely, in the meanwhile it was quite far for the nightlife and not easy to call a Tutuk. The breakfast was good, in the meanwhile the dinner was over priced and the price not equal to it was tasted.... More

We spent two nights at the Mandala. I liked the architecture and it does look good at night with lights enhancing a beautiful building, the interior is smart in reception but our room was rather lacking what you would expect for a high end hotel. So,value for money? I'm not sure. The restaurant next door is very expensive and we... More

Pleasant, fairly relaxed location - although the smallish grounds are being eaten up by development. More building work was going on when we were there. Located in quiet side road running between two busy main roads - traffic noise noticeable during rush hours but otherwise ok. And some 'temple noise' from the temple opposite - although this is rather pleasing.... More

A pleasant, decent hotel without too much to brag about and with prices above what it offers, to our experience. We just had an "ok" experience with our room. On the positives, this is a small hotel, with a nice cozy atmosphere, we liked the breakfast, and the bed was very comfortable. On the other hand, our room had a... More
