This hotel offers large colonial style rooms in a modern setting. Its in a great location with easy walking to the commercial centre of Vientiane and China Town. The reception, restaurant and bar areas are modern but elegent, breakfast was excellent. We didn't eat at the hotel because has a mile down the road into town around a circle were... More

This hotel was outstanding, being an exemplary French colonial refurbishment with world class management and staff. Very impressed with the restaurant run by the German Chef/General Manager. Unhesitatingly recommended for a stay in Vientiane.

We stayed just one night. Our room had high ceilings, polished wood floor and four-poster bed. The hotel has a reasonable sized pool and a decent breakfast buffet given the small number of rooms. Internet access is criminally expensive! Convenient location.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights after my clients decided to transfer their stay from the bad experience of yellow shower water at the Novotel Hotel. The Settha Palace is certainly a very nice and charming boutique hotel and has the old world charm, adding on to the experience in Laos. The hotel staff are incredibly helpful and... More

The Settha Palace is the perfect place to stay in Vientiane which is not a particularly salubrius place. We were very happy to return her for rest and recouperation following sightseeing. Beautiful building and spacious rooms. Restaurant very pricey at weekends but saw the menu for the weekday buffet lunch which looked extremely tasty and good value.

Vientiane is a peaceful place compared with most of Asia. This hotel is peaceful compared to most of Vientane. Exvellent congee for breakfast. Very efficient desk staff, wanting to please. Our bed was a large four-poster with a wonderful mattress. Be careful, though, of the slippery carpet - floors are highly polished. The place is spotless.

My wife and I stayed at Settha's Palace for one night on a five night tour of Laos, initial impressions of the hotel and room were very good as It has a very five star colonial feel to it when you first walk through the door, staff are very good and pleasant, food is pretty good, pool area is fabulous... We booked Settha Palace for a two night stay. First, its probably worth just mentioning a few things about Vientiane itself. One day is more than enough to see all the sights. None of the sights are particularly outstanding. The (small) Budda Park is not worth visiting. The Budda statues there were built in the 1950's using concrete. However if... More

I went to the Settha Palace after 2 weeks of backpacking through Laos. I knew I would want a luxury end to my trip as I was to be trekking in the north and wanted to have a couple of days relaxing before flying home. Settha Palace is indeed the place to do this! It is probably slightly more expensive... More

The Settha Palace is a classic colonial hotel and I'd be very surprised if there is a better hotel in Vientiane. It has been recently renovated with stylish traditional furniture and polished wood floors. The grounds have been tastefully landscaped and there is a delightful pool. For some reason the hotel had very few guests - maybe it was still... More
