Settha Palace is the best way to experience Vientiane's colonial history and modern comforts. The hotel is very well-appointed, extremely comfortable and the staff is gracious and warm. All the in-room amenities were fab and reminiscent of the posh early twentieth century - the four poster bed with luxury linen was particularly noteworthy. I didn't swim in the pool, but... More

Easy to get down to the river and shopping. Nice and relaxing. Good meeting room. Excellent food. Mr Yeshi the GM was very organized and our 4 days with all rooms booked, went so well. I highly recommend this venue for a group up to 50 persons using all 29 rooms.. Staff service was outstanding.. Taking a ride in the... More

The hotel is in an old colonial building and you feel you have entered a different era. The room was very big and well equipped with old fashioned furniture to finish the look. The best thing about the hotel is however the pool - big, clean and plenty of towels at hand. The service in general did unfortunately not fit... More

Settha Palace Hotel was a wonderful treat for us. We had thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights stay there. Hotel is located in the center of the city, walking distance to almost all most everything. Although we arrived very late, check in process was fast and efficient. Cold towel & ice cream was a nice touch! Our room was large with... More

Settha Palace is one of the most charming colonial hotel we have ever stayed, beautifully restored with alot of attention given to small details. Well designed room with high ceiling, wooden floors, separate bath and shower. We felt like a real palace. Food in their restaurant are just amazing, service friendly and faultless. Staff at the reception are particularly very warm and... More

My son's engagement was in Vientiane and we booked 8 rooms at the Setha Palace for visiting family and a further 13 rooms at the Ibis Namphu. As usual, everything at the Setha was just fine. The GM, Mr. Yeshi took personal interest in our group and made sure that we and our guests were well looked after. The Setha... More

A more European style hotel. We stayed in a junior suite, which was a bit small and boring but functional and was saved by the hotel's location and a great restaurant. The hotel is approximately 10 minutes walk away from the Mekong River and night market, and plenty of bars and restaurants on the way, of which we were unaware... More

We only went to Settha Palace for the day to use the pool but left at lunch time after the rudeness of the male staff there. We were spoken to extremely rudely and laughed at and when we confronted the staff about this, they said the waiter in question could not speak any English, even though he clearly knew what... More

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. I'm truly very sorry that your visit was not up to your expectations. I see you met one of our trainee staff who are not very confident in their English. As an expatriate here in Laos, I've noticed that a common reaction among the Lao people, when they... More

I have stayed here three times previously for work and this was my fuirst time staying for holiday, but it was just as good. SP has a great pool, very good service and a world class breakfast. I will keep coming back here for any future visits to Laos!

The hotel feels like a colonial mansion or an Officers' Mess, beautifully furnished and kept. We enjoyed eating in the hotel, spacious and gracious restaurant, excellent service and good food, much preferred it to the rather cramped restaurants we saw in the town. We had a side room and heard no karaoke so slept well. The pool is a pretty... More
