Stayed 2 nights in March and ideal stopover after long haul flight. Lovely pool. Very comfy room, good shower, excellent breakfast.in attractive, airy dining room. Well positioned with everything within walking distance. Best meal of our trip in Makphet, (15 mins walk) a training restaurant for street kids. More

While we are experienced travelers, we were very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful colonial hotel, Seetha Palace, in Vientiane. We knew when we were met at the Vientiane airport by the hotel's classic London Taxi vehicle that this hotel was going to be a gem. And it was. The lobby was like one would see in the classic movies of... More

We stayed 2 nights here with no high expectations. Secluded location about 15 mins walk to main shopping and restaurants. Nice exterior and interior settings. Friendly reception staff. Very quiet hotel. Comfortable bed and adequate bathroom amenities. Creaky floor boards but expected from the age. Avoid the front rooms (facing the road) as ours was a bit noisy from the... More

We stayed at luxurious Settha Palace for 4 nights in March 2012. We had a Junior Suite that was very spacious, with a bedroom, en suite, and a separate lounge and dining area. All furnished in exquisite colonial style, well maintained and we were welcomed with a bowl of fresh fruit. This hotel was an oasis amidst the heat, humidity... More

This Settha Palace Hotel has surely surpassed our expectations. We were left delighted by the traditional colonial ambience, almost romantic, and the warm & friendly sevice. Also our room mail spared no troub les to make us feel welcome. Fresh flowers every day and the room were spotless. This remains truly one of the grand legends in our Indo-China vacation. More

Wonderful stay in this small colonial-style luxury hotel. Room, breakfast and service were excellent during my four night-stay. More

I have stayed a the Settha Palace hotel several times over the years. It is a stately, elegant and refined historic hotel which is by far the best in that city. The hardwood floors, period furniture and high ceilings are superb. It is quiet and well air conditioned; a welcome place when it is 37 degrees outside. A couple items... More

Passing through Vientiane twice recently we found out that the city seemed to have a few nice little hotels when reviewing this site and selected the Settha Palace for the second call. We were not disappointed: a typical French belle époque colonial atmosphere in a hotel with human touch and size. This was one of the nice surprises we had... More

LOCATION: Good location, only a five-minute walk to the Nam Phou Fountain and Rue Samsenthai. HOTEL: Slow, surly bell staff. Fast check-in. Decent size room, but dusty. Needed to turn on the hot water switch 20 minutes prior to taking a shower. Even after an hour’s wait, there was not enough hot water for two people. Mosquito infested bedroom. Old... More

This small old heritage French colonial hotel may not be as grand as some comparable properties in neighbouring countries, but is a perfect starting point to discover the very sleepy Lao capital Vientiane. It's an intimate space with rooms decorated in heavy wooden furniture and very high ceilings. The design can be a bit 'dusty' but actually it suits the... More
