Being that this was our first trip to Laos and Vientiane all together...my husband made sure we stayed at the best rated hotel. Though Agoda rated the hotel as a 4-5 star, by US standard, this hotel is would be only a 3.5 but in Laos, it is great. Had a swimming pool, free breakfast daily and good size rooms.... more

We paid extra to 'upgrade' to this hotel for our 2 nights in Vientiane. It has a huge, plush lobby and nice enough rooms and a reasonable location but 5* it ain't. There's little to fault with the Lao Plaza - except that it could be almost anywhere. The location is fantastic, just a few minutes walk from the centre of town and most of the places to visit/restaurants etc. The service is great, from the huge breakfast buffet to the permanent smiles at reception, and they've got all the standard services... more
